Mystic Valley Home Services is a family-owned plumbing, heating, and cooling contractor in Arlington, run by owner Matt Sullivan. Google shows a 5.0-star rating from 139 ratings, and the pattern holds across other platforms too — 4.9 from 10 on HomeAdvisor, 5.0 from 2 on BuildZoom, 5.0 from 1 on Thumbtack. Customers consistently describe fast, often same-day or emergency response to burst pipes, failed water heaters, and heating breakdowns — arriving within an hour of a call, working nights and weekends, and clearly explaining the problem and the fix. Independent reviewers repeatedly call the pricing fair and transparent, with no surprise costs, across jobs from faucet and toilet repairs to full water-heater and boiler-adjacent installs. One August 2026 reviewer reports a technical issue on a second repair visit, but says the manager responded promptly and took responsibility — the record's rare blemish in an otherwise strongly positive run of recent activity (7 reviews in the last six months, none negative). Worth confirming directly: the business's Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license (#209712) comes back registry-verified EXPIRED, even though the Better Business Bureau lists the same number and gives the business an A+ rating under its Home Improvement category. A homeowner should ask about current licensing status before hiring.
If you're like me, you've either been cooked multiple times by bigger companies in the home repair industries taking advantage of you - or you're trying not to be in that situation. And you have to deal with an anxious spouse on top of all that. Long story short, we saw developing stains on our kitchen ceiling from leaks in the guest bathroom upstairs. Called Mystic Valley. Matt and his team came in the very next morning. Due to the leaks being super stubborn and having multiple sources, they ended up coming to our place a total of three times to diagnose, repair, tighten, and apply sealant in all the appropriate places with time to dry, with the latter two visits being completely free of charge. Our guest bathroom is now leak-free. We're still trying to figure out which guest was responsible for creating these leaks. Just kidding. Matt is a super amicable guy and it's clear that his team genuinely enjoys what they do. They treated us with the utmost courtesy. Feels good when a company actually cares. We're very satisfied with their level of service and commitment and are pretty much set with Mystic as our go-to plumbers. Happy wife, happy life.
We have used Mystic Home Service twice. Both times, they were very prompt and responsive , which I appreciate. There was an issue with the second repair due to some technical issues on the company’s side. However, the manager responded promptly, took responsibility for the situation, and made sure the issue was fixed properly without any additional charge. The team came back, addressed the problem quickly, and did a great job. My kitchen sink feels like a new one! I really appreciate the manager’s honesty, responsiveness, and commitment to making things right. I will definitely use Mystic Home Service again and will gladly recommend them to my friends and family. Thanks, Matt and team!
Matthew Sullivan and his associate did a great job in fixing a water leak in the cellar, doing their work with skill and professionalism. Besides their excellent work, they were friendly and courteous, explaining the steps they were taking to resolve the issue. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Mystic Valley if needed again or to recommend them to anyone who's looking for high quality plumbing services performed by good people. Well done.
5 stars for Matt! He was very professional and showed up right on time for our appointment. I had just installed a new vanity myself, but the plumbing connections weren’t quite right and I ended up with a small leak. Matt came out the first time and helped with part of the issue, then came back a second time with his colleague to properly reconnect everything. They took their time and made sure the job was done right. Everything is now completely leak-free, and I can finally put my things in the vanity cabinet without worrying about water damage! Matt was also reasonably priced. I really appreciate his professionalism and the care he put into fixing the problem. I would definitely recommend him!
Polite, prompt, professional service very time at a reasonable price. Such a great experience. I have had Mystic Valley Home Services to my house three times for services and repairs and will continue to do so!
