New England Pool Builders is a family-owned pool construction and service company based in Dracut, Massachusetts, with 12 years of experience per its HomeAdvisor profile, run by owner Greg Holt alongside a small named crew (Bob, Paul among them). The written record centers on custom in-ground pool builds and is unusually specific for the size of the jobs involved. A 2024 review described an $80,000 in-ground pool delivered above expectations; another described a $50,000 build with the team present every step of the way; a third described a kidney-shaped, gunite, saltwater pool with a slide and dive rock. One customer said Greg had built a pool with a built-in jacuzzi for a friend, liked it enough to commission a similar one, and got it built successfully despite starting the project during COVID. On the repair side, a 2024 review described a $35,000 resurfacing and repair job that fixed a problem three prior pool companies over two years couldn't diagnose, and another described a full resurfacing and replumbing that had the pool running again quickly. Reviewers consistently credit Greg by name for listening to design goals and working within budget, and several single out communication — frequent updates, texting, and staying on a stated timeline — as a standout. HomeAdvisor shows a 4.9★ rating across 13 reviews (92% five-star, 8% four-star), and the one four-star review still praised the finished pool, citing only that 2023's unpredictable weather complicated the schedule. One thing worth noting: the company's own website is a thin, generic template page with little pool-specific detail beyond matching contact information, so it isn't a useful source to research the business further — reviews and the HomeAdvisor profile carry the record instead. For a homeowner planning a custom in-ground pool build or a stubborn repair, New England Pool Builders has a track record of large, complex jobs completed to a high standard, with an owner customers can name and credit directly.
Highly recommend, I called many many companies looking for help with my pool and the experience here was unlike any other. They came right out and helped me with my issue
Greg Holt and his crew were fantastic to work with. They're friendly, efficient, and built us a wonderful pool! Greg listens carefully to your vision and design ideas and works within your budget to help you create a wonderful swimming pool and backyard space. I would highly recommend NEPB for any pool project or service you need. Jim- Dracut MA.
Greg had built a pool for one of my friends, who made the introduction. As soon as I saw how it had a built-in jacuzzi, I knew I wanted a similar one for my family. We had it built during the craziness of covid, but the end product turned out perfect. Greg and his team worked with me on a lot of my many requests and changes. Everyone who sees our backyard comments on how itâ s a backyard oasis and how the pool is one of the nicest ones theyâ ve seen.
$35,000. Greg and his team at New England Pools went above and beyond to repair and refurbish our pool. After 2 years and 3 different pool companies, no one could figure out what was wrong with our pool and how to get it fixed. We were finally referred to New England Pool Builders and they were able to identify the issues and correct all the mistakes the last 3 companies made. If I were building or refurbishing another pool I wouldn't consider anyone else. Their service team is great as well. Very happy customer.
This was an incredible experience from start to finish. The workers kept me involved and informed throughout the entire process. They kept to a strict timeline and finished the entire job on time and when expected. I would recommend this team to anybody – thank you for the incredible work; they made me fall deeper in love with my pool.
