In a March 2025 Google review, Bill and Ann Pladson wrote that they handed Brandon a house plan for their son's home near Brunswick, Maine, and he came back after a few days with buildable plans and several suggestions that improved the final build. The house was finished on budget and several weeks under schedule. When the subs installed a cheaper type of roof insulation than the one specified, they wrote, Brandon admitted the oversight, removed and replaced it, and the two sides reached a compromise. Newman Homes works out of Augusta. Its website says its founder built high-end custom homes in Florida and Massachusetts before moving to Maine and starting the company, and that the Maine work has included commercial jobs and Maine State Housing projects as well as houses. The site claims nine years in business, offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service, and lists a service area running from Augusta to Brunswick, Lewiston, Farmington and Oakland. A Maine Public piece says Newman Homes builds single- or multi-family buildings for others. In May 2025 a reviewer wrote that they contracted with Newman Homes to build their retirement home, and that all of the work, from excavation to final flooring and painting, was done by their move-in date. In April 2025 a customer wrote about an extensive remodel under a fixed-price contract, with Brandon fair about adjustments and still handling small warranty issues after final payment. Another April 2025 customer had a one-car garage expanded to two cars. In an April 2025 review, a customer who hired the company for new windows, siding, doors and roofing wrote that their heating oil use is a lot lower, and that after one call about small issues Brandon had workers there within hours. In May 2025 a reviewer who had been waiting a few years to do their roof cited competitive pricing and no mess left behind. A May 2023 reviewer whose home was sided wrote that, when money was tight, Brandon's company did work they could not afford free of charge. In a one-star June 2024 review about a siding job, a customer wrote that the business knocked out power during siding demolition, sent an unlicensed person who could not find the problem before a master electrician found it in 30 minutes, and then tried to bill 24 hours of electrician time. They wrote that power to a detached garage was also lost, a chest freezer of food was ruined, receptacles were wired wrong, trim did not match, the work was incomplete, and the office staff and owner were rude.
