Peter answers the phone, and that is most of the story. Across 66 written accounts on Houzz, Thumbtack, Angi and HomeAdvisor since 2018, the owner is named by first name in review after review — quoting the job himself, bringing colour samples to the house, telling a customer up front who the lead on the crew would be. North Shore Painting Services works out of North Reading and takes on both the inside and the outside of a house. In March 2026 a customer described two whole floors of a townhouse — walls, ceilings, doors, windows and trim — floors protected before anyone opened a can, done in a couple of days as planned, with a walk-through at the end before they left. A December 2025 exterior job went further than paint: the crew power-washed the house, replaced rotted wood, primed, top-coated and repaired the foundation surface, all in November weather. The range goes past painting. A 2019 customer had a $6,800 basement plaster job that took the room, in their words, from a no-go zone back to life; another had an attic pull-down ladder replaced in a week flat in 2024; a 2023 account describes a whole-interior repaint alongside hardwood refinishing, rebuilt deck stairs and a new kitchen floor; and one customer had a beam designed and built for a dining room. Its BBB listing runs to siding, roofing, decks, windows and doors. The things to raise before you sign. In June 2023 a customer said the roof they had done alongside the exterior paint leaked afterwards, and that emails, texts and calls went unanswered for a stretch — an update on the same review later said the crew came through and fixed it. In July 2024 an anonymous Houzz reviewer left one star saying the job was never finished. In February 2019 another gave three stars for "too many imperfections" on a simple wall. Those are three accounts against 66, and the last six months have brought four reviews with nothing negative in them — but the pattern in all three is follow-through after the crew leaves. Solid pick for interior repaints, full exterior jobs with real prep, and plaster or drywall repair, and unusually responsive at the estimate stage. Get the punch list written down before final payment and agree in writing how call-backs are handled — and if the job includes roofing rather than paint, treat that as a separate conversation and ask who warrants it.

Hired on Thumbtack. Absolutely love these guys!! I'm a new home owner and painting was the first thing I wanted to get accomplished. I looked at 6 other companies and these guys by far had the best rate. Not only that but their owner Peter was fantastic as I changed my mind about what I wanted done and the timing about four times. He was so responsive and thorough with answering my questions. His crew were friendly and complete professionals. I went over their work with a very close eye and had no complaints. I urge anyone to use this company you will not regret it and I already have new jobs for his team in the works. For someone who is a new homeowner this type of support from a contractor is so appreciated!!!! Details: Home - 4 rooms - Walls - 8-10 feet (standard ceiling) - Repainting, with a color change - Excellent, clean and smooth - Interior Painting

Hired on Thumbtack. I highly recommend the North Shore painters. They painted 2 floors in our townhouse: walls, ceilings, doors, windows, trim, etc. The owner responded quickly with detailed quote. He also told me who the lead person on the job will be. The crew arrived on time and reviewed the work/colors/sheen with me. They meticulously protected the floors before they started painting. The work took a couple of days, as planed, and was completed on time. When they were done, they cleaned everything and waited for me to walk through the entire house to make sure that I was satisfied with their work. And very satisfied I was! I highly recommend North Shore and would definitely hire them again. Details: Home - 3 rooms - Walls - Trim - Ceiling - Under 8 feet (low ceiling) - Repainting, with same color - Fair, minor holes and scratches - Interior Painting

North Shore Painting Services did outstanding job painting my house. The crew power washed the entire house, replaced and repaired all damaged and rotted wood, prepped all surfaces, applied a primer coat and finish coat of paint, as well as repairing and painting the surface of the foundation. All this was done under challenging November weather conditions. Peter, the contractor, was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Highly recommend and will definitely use again!!
