Two reviews, pointing in opposite directions — that is the whole public history of Northeast Hardwood Floor Service. One customer in April called it a wonderful hardwood flooring service. Two months earlier, another warned homeowners off entirely, describing someone named Tinh as disorganized, poor at communicating, dishonest, and aggressive when things didn't go his way. Google's page averages 3.3 across three ratings. The work itself is straightforward wood flooring: installation, sanding, staining, refinishing, floor re-leveling, plus stair systems and custom inlay borders, for houses, apartment buildings and commercial spaces. The company's own site says it has served New England for over nine years across thousands of projects. Who actually runs it is murky. The website's services page is headed "John Thomas Carlton, Custom Woodwork", an Angi listing names Martin Nguyen as owner and dates the company to 1999 with 27 years behind it, and the negative review refers to a Tinh. The addresses drift too, between 708 and 610 Washington Ave in Revere, and a LinkedIn entry ties the name to a Florida headquarters with a Revere second office. With that little to go on, treat this as an unknown quantity rather than a safe bet. If you call, get the legal business name, the owner's name, and the Massachusetts registration in writing before signing anything, ask for references from wood-floor jobs finished in the past year, and put the scope, price and schedule on paper. The complaint on record is about conduct and communication, so a clear written contract matters more than usual here.

Tinh is disorganized and communicates poorly. He's dishonest and gets extremely aggressive when he doesn't get his way. Beware.
