Thirty years in business, and five people have written a review. That's the shape of Northeastern Hardwood Floors: a two-person Stoneham shop that has been installing, sanding and refinishing hard and soft wood floors since 1996 under David Deming Jr., with a second address on Federal Street in Wilmington. BBB gives the Stevens Street file an A+. The same page also states the business is not BBB accredited — those are two different facts, and they sit together more often than homeowners expect. Where customers have spoken, they were happy. HomeAdvisor shows 4.8 out of five across five ratings, four of them five stars and one four, and every one of those reviews deals with the owner by name rather than with a crew — which fits a shop this size. The catch is the calendar: all five landed in January and February of 2022. A four-year-old set of five is a starting point, not a track record. The paperwork is untidy in a way worth raising on the phone. The company trades under three names — Northeastern Hardwood Flooring on BBB, Northeastern flooring services LLC on HomeAdvisor, Northeastern Hardwood Floors here — and BBB's own page can't hold a line on who runs it, naming Kerri Deming as office manager in one paragraph and listing David and Sarah Deming as owners in the next. The tenure claims wobble too, between 'over 25 years' and 30. For sanding and refinishing from someone who turns up himself, this is a reasonable shop to call. Ask which entity name goes on the contract, and ask for two or three jobs from the last year you can go and look at.

Good quality products and service! They were very great at wearing their masks and following the covid protocols. I would hire them again they seemed honest and hard-working.

I was scrambling to get my hardwood floors done for a surprised time my wife while she was down in FL for 7 days. Dave had returned my call promptly and came by for a quote and said he could handle the job in 3.5 days time which was amazing. The floors looked spectacular and there was zero mess. My wife was flabbergasted when she got home and literally she'd a tear or two. I would highly recommend Northeastern Hardwood to anyone!

It went great. Dave knows what he's doing, is polite, and gets the job done. He also recommended an inlay in our floor which looks fantastic. Very happy, and I recommend him without reservation.
