Northern Lights Electric is a North Attleborough electrical contractor run by Nick McCourt, a licensed master electrician, doing panel upgrades, EV charger installs, generator work, and everyday lighting and outlet jobs across Massachusetts and five other New England states. Nick's state electrician license is verified active, and the company is a certified Tesla Wall Connector installer. Some customers have stuck with Northern Lights for a decade or more: one reviewer has called them for jobs since 2007, another for 10-plus years, describing panel upgrades, ceiling fan installs, and moved outlets along the way. Tesla and EV charger installs come up often and specifically — reviewers describe chargers run through a basement wall instead of an exposed conduit, sub-panels placed exactly where asked, and cleanup down to vacuuming the work area. Bigger jobs get similar detail: a 200-amp service upgrade with a three-person crew finishing a full day's work, inside and out, by half past noon, and a rewiring job that a solar installer later called meticulous work months afterward, unprompted. There's a recurring complaint about billing for visits that didn't go as planned. A 2022 review describes a doorbell rewiring call where the crew arrived unprepared, had to reschedule, and still charged $300; a 2025 review describes a $1,000 bill for installing a customer-supplied bathroom fan and an outlet the customer didn't ask for. A February 2026 review separately describes the owner being sarcastic and unprofessional with both the customer and his own employee during a visit. A 2021 review describes a condo panel upgrade where the crew rushed through the end of the job and left the hot water disconnected until the next day. For panel upgrades, EV charger installs, and everyday electrical work, Northern Lights has deep, specific praise behind it — but get a firm, itemized quote before a visit, especially for a smaller job, given the recurring billing complaints.
Nick, thank you so much for doing an outstanding job on our Tesla EV charger. You were super responsive. The work was meticulous and I appreciate you explaining everything to me and my wife. Thank you also for coming back immediately for an unrelated issue. It has become hard to find outstanding quality tradesman, but Nick was amazing, he went above and beyond. I highly recommend Northern Lights Electric!
Responsive, thorough, and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Great work at a fair price.
Nicholas McCourt and Dante came to my home yesterday at 800am. Nick brought his German Shephard in his truck and the dog was barking and disturbing my neighbor. Nick was rude to me, he was sarcastic and unprofessional. He was rude to Dante in front of me and it was embarrassing. I asked about the quote he sent me and his response was "didn't I just tell you..". That is NOT A PROPER RESPONSE to a customer paying over $1,000 for a quick job. Very disappointed. I love Northern Lights but would never allow Nick McCourt into my home again. We always use Northern Lights and JT whom I heard left the company was a GEM. I will use Northern Lights again if needed but would request another electrician.
I have had several recent projects done by Northern Electric and each time the crew and work is outstanding. I had fire alarms replaced and ceiling fans and recessed lights installed. The crew arrived on time, very professional, and cleaned up the job site after the work was completed. I would highly recommend them!
