Octo Construction is a Taunton, Massachusetts general contractor run by owner Frico Jean, holding an active Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration verified directly against the state registry. BuildZoom gives the company a score of 97 and shows seven permitted projects across Brookline, Attleboro, Braintree, South Easton, Merrimac and Brockton. The one written review on file, from 2022, describes a complete gut renovation of a run-down house bought in late 2021: the homeowner, new to construction and burned by past contractors, credits Frico's communication and a reasonable quote, and says he guided them through Brookline's permitting process and worked with a structural engineer when the project hit unexpected structural issues that delayed completion. With only one detailed review on file alongside a solid permit history, it's worth asking for a few more recent references before committing to a larger renovation.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Octo Construction LLC. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

I bought a run-down house from 1990 in December 2021, which required a complete make-over. I am not the most experienced person in construction and had several unpleasant experiences in the past. I chose Octo Construction based on Frico’s excellent communication, accurate social media information and his reasonable quote. I never had reason to doubt him throughout the long process to get a building permit in Brookline. Frico guided me through every step and town regulation. The project completion was delayed due to unexpected structural issues, however, Frico worked closely with a structural engineer and architect and ultimately impressed the building inspector on every visit with design and structural integrity. Frico is a very good listener and our home looks beautiful! Frico was always available to answer questions and address concerns from start to finish. All his employees were professional and courteous. Octo Construction is a great company to do business with! They are prompt and timely and, as far as workmanship, they cannot be beat. I would recommend them over other construction companies in the Boston area.
