Oka Remodeling

A big-box store's tile installer walked off a half-finished wall, and the homeowner went to Craigslist and found David Oka. In a March 2025 review they called him a saint for finishing it, praising how focused he was, how handy with the tools, how carefully he cleaned up. Oka Remodeling works out of Rowley, and tile is the center of it. The company's site describes kitchen and bathroom remodeling, tile installation, backsplashes and interior renovations, and says David Oka founded the business in the 2000s. On Thumbtack the list runs longer — hardwood and laminate flooring, interior and exterior painting, drywall repair, countertop installation — at 5.0 from four reviews. The rest of what customers have written dates to November 2022. One had him renovate an office and said the plaster and paint came out crisp. Another, writing about work on their apartment, listed quality, communication, punctuality, fairness, honesty and price, and added that he and his team did more than they were hired for and offered advice on other projects underway. A third wrote that reliable and trustworthy was all they could say. One thing to ask about: the site puts the business back in the 2000s, while the Thumbtack profile lists four years in business. Pin down how long he has been remodeling under this name. For tile — a backsplash, a bathroom wall, or a job someone else left half done — this is a small operation whose customers name David personally. For a whole kitchen or bath, ask which parts he handles himself and who he brings in, and get the tile spec and surface prep written into the contract before work starts.
