On Duty Chimney Masonry Stove runs out of 493 Lancaster Street in Leominster and is hired across Worcester County for chimney sweeping and inspection, flue relining, chimney caps, full and partial rebuilds, masonry repair, wood, pellet, gas and electric stove work, and dryer vent cleaning. Massachusetts lists its Home Improvement Contractor registration, 201587, as active under the company's own name, and a construction supervisor licence, CS-106348, as active under Bryan S. LeBlanc. The written record is deep and current: 571 reviews on file across six platforms from 2016 through 2026, with Google publishing 4.9 from 632 ratings and both Angi and HomeAdvisor showing 4.7 from 13. What recent customers keep describing is speed and explanation. People write about calling on a Friday afternoon and having the problem assessed Saturday morning and fixed Monday, about an inspection Monday and a liner installed Tuesday, and about getting a full written estimate within an hour of the crew arriving. Technicians are named again and again — Spencer, Jimmy, John, Anthony, Christian, Zachary, Sean, Ben — usually for walking the homeowner through photos or drone pictures of the flue and laying out two or three priced options without pressure. The repeat work that draws the most detailed praise is relining and rebuilding. In 2026 reviews, homeowners describe a rebuilt chimney finished in August heat by a five-man crew, a liner installed on a slate roof in bad weather the day after the problem was found, and safety and structural defects fixed the morning after the work order was signed. Several customers say they have used the company for years — annual stove cleanings, a reline, a repair — and one bought inspections on houses they were considering buying. The thing to settle before booking is scope. In a May 2026 review, a customer who booked only a chimney cleaning came home to a full inspection, a video walkthrough given to her husband, and a job that ended at roughly $10,000 for a cleaning, liner, cap and flashing — she felt he had been pressured. A 2023 reviewer said a promised call to reschedule a cleaning never came. Both sit against a large, overwhelmingly positive book, but they point at the same thing: agree in writing what is being done and what it costs before the crew starts. A good call for chimney relining, rebuilds and stove installation in central Massachusetts, especially when speed matters. Confirm the scope and price of anything the inspection turns up, and confirm that the HIC registration and construction supervisor licence are current when you sign.
“On Duty Chimney (Fitchburg) was great when we needed a new liner.”
Anyone who says young folks these days aren't willing to do hard manual work hasn't met the crew at On Duty Chimney. Reed, Brett, Alex, Austin and Sean came out to re-built my chimney in the August heat. They were very professional and very skilled at their trade. I'm looking forward to the next cold winter with a safe fireplace and chimney. Thanks also to Grace and Spencer who walked me through the begining of this process. Outstanding!
I couldn't be happier with the service I received for my dryer vent cleaning. The workers arrived on time, were extremely professional, courteous and respectful of my home. The took the time to explain what they were doing and kept me updated throughout the entire process. They did a thorough job cleaning the dryer vent. I appreciated how clean and organized they left everything when they were finished-there was no mess left behind at all. From start to finish, the experience was excellent, and the communication and attention to detail really stood out. Everyone was great to work with, and I will definitely be using them again in the future.
We had a great experience with On Duty Chimney. Jimmy, John, and Alan came out this morning to inspect our chimney and discuss options for installing a flue liner. They were incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer all of our questions and presented three different recommendations at three different price points without any pressure. We really appreciated their honesty, patience, and willingness to explain everything so we could make an informed decision. We’re still deciding which option is the best fit for us, but we were very impressed with their service and would highly recommend On Duty Chimney to anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional chimney company.
Very neat and proficient work of removal of my old wood burning stove, and careful and proficient installation of my new wood burning stove. We were very pleased with the service and work.
Everything about this experience was positive starting with Grace, to Anthony who performed the inspection and initial cleaning, and Christian and team who installed the new chimney liner. And this was all accomplished immediately, no wait…inspection on Monday, Liner installation on Tuesday. Efficient and excellent customer service.
