On Point Home Remodel is a Plainville, Massachusetts general contractor built around one name homeowners keep repeating: Alex. Across dozens of five-star Google reviews from 2022 through 2026, the same pattern comes up — Alex DeAlmeida personally stays on the project from the first quote through the final walkthrough, and reviewers credit that hands-on presence as much as any single finish. The company serves Massachusetts and Rhode Island, self-reports 12 years in business, and holds an active Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration verified against the state registry. The most recent reviews, posted this summer, describe the same responsiveness as reviews from years earlier. The jobs described range widely: a leaking sliding patio door replaced in an afternoon, storm-damaged porch steps fast-tracked before a party, and a structural project that removed two load-bearing walls, coordinated with an engineer. Full basement finishes and gut bathroom remodels come up again and again, including projects carried through New England winters, a home office built into unused space above a garage, and a kitchen taken down to bare walls with skylights added and oak flooring matched where a wall came out. Exterior jobs show up too — replacement windows, new siding, a roof repaired after a leak, and a backyard deck rebuilt into a four-season porch with a wood-burning stove. Reviewers who compared On Point to other Massachusetts contractors they had used before, including some well-known names around the Cape and metro-west suburbs, singled out its pricing as fair or lower than competing quotes, and several say they called Alex back for a second or third project instead of shopping around again. The license on file names the registered entity On Point Home Exterior LLC, one of a few close variants — reviews also say "OnPoint Construction Company" — that all track back to the same Alex DeAlmeida-led crew; worth confirming the current legal name before a contract is signed. On Point fits a homeowner planning a real renovation — a kitchen, a bathroom, a basement, or an exterior overhaul with windows, siding or a deck — who wants one person accountable for the whole job rather than a rotating crew. Past customers describe the quote holding through to the final invoice, so get the scope and price in writing at the estimate stage the same way they did.
We couldn’t be happier with our new front steps! Alex and his team at On Point Home Remodel did an outstanding job from start to finish. He was professional, responsive, and had great communication throughout the entire project. He took the time to work with us to find a solution that fit our budget without compromising on safety or quality. The stairs are beautiful, incredibly sturdy, and, most importantly, they passed inspection with no issues. The new landing has made such a difference in our day-to-day life. As parents with young children, it’s been a game changer to have a safe, functional entryway where we can set down the baby carrier, stroller, groceries, and bags while unlocking the door. Alex was also just a genuinely kind and pleasant person to work with. It’s clear that he takes pride in his craftsmanship and wants his customers to be happy with the finished product. We would absolutely hire Alex again for future home projects and highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality work and excellent service.
It has been pleasure to work with Alex. The team did amazing top professional job.
On Point did multiple jobs including masonry, doors, and a complete siding job. Excellent quality and a great team. I will use them again. Highly recommended!
We have done close to a dozen remodeling jobs over the years at our homes in metro west and down the Cape. We have used some of the better known contractors in metro west but the last project we did, the customer service was lacking and we felt that the price was more than the job warranted. When we decided to finish half of our large unfinished basement in Needham, we were eager to talk to Alex and his On Point team. A couple of years ago he did a small job in our garage (painting the floor and adding shelving) which came out great for a very fair price. I had vague ideas of what I wanted in our basement- a large tv viewing room with dark green walls, wood floors, a bar area and built in cabinets, antique brass lighting and barn doors leading to a home gym. I printed a handful of pictures off of the internet and talked to Alex about my ideas. He listened carefully and made helpful suggestions about things to add or consider for our work such as new outside doors and new wood treads on the stairs which made a meaningful difference . He was able to translate my thoughts to a detailed plan- which he priced out for us at a fair price. Alex oversaw all of the work and was open to adding things to our job as the basement plans came to life. Every member of his team and his subs were polite, talented and professional. The work space was left pristine each night. When some of our new flooring arrived damaged, Alex quickly sought to replace it and, most importantly, communicated with me right along so I always knew where things stood. Unlike with other contractors, I never wondered about the status of things. Alex dealt with all permitting and inspections and things went off without any problem whatsoever. The finished project looks even better than we had hoped- both the tv viewing room with the cabinets and vintage lights and bar area and the home gym are beautiful, useful spaces that immediately improve the value of our home. I whole heartedly endorse Alex and the OnPoint team for home remodeling. We are already planning to have him help us this summer and next with other projects.
I worked with On Point to update my kitchen. We replaced countertops, installed a new sink and fixtures, installed some new cabinetry and a few other odds and ends. Alex at On Point was very responsive and easy to work with and his team was great. Our idea for the kitchen evolved as we went along and they were very receptive to the adjustments and slight pivoting. I am very happy with the attention to detail and craftsmanship. I'd absolutely use them again in the future.
