Before the town of Bourne awarded a contract, its purchasing agent did the thing most homeowners skip: it called KN Environmental's references. Five were contacted, four answered, and the town's paperwork noted that all of them were good. That is nearly all that has been written publicly about this North Attleborough company, which lists an address at 87 Commonwealth Ave. A procurement officer's reference check carries weight — making those calls and writing down the answers is literally the job — but it is one note attached to one bid, and it stands alone. So there is no honest way to put a number on them yet. If they are on your list, do what the town did: ask for two or three references on jobs like yours and actually call them, and get their Massachusetts registration and current certificate of insurance in writing before any work starts.
