On Time Electrical Service describes itself as a family-owned Cambridge electrician, led by Vaughn Speller, offering panel upgrades, rewiring, EV charger and generator installs, and 24/7 emergency work across Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, Medford, Arlington, Watertown, Belmont, and Brookline. Its one detailed customer account, though, is a serious one: in a 2024 review, a customer described an electrician named Kristopher Farr repeatedly touching a neighbor's shared electrical panel without permission after being explicitly told not to, misdiagnosing it as a "mixed panel," and cutting power to the house multiple times without warning, interrupting work meetings. Given how limited the record is, it's worth asking pointed questions before hiring — who will actually be on the job, and how they handle shared or sensitive electrical work.
Without a doubt the worst electrician experience I ever had (the electrician in question is named Kristopher Farr). He was explicitly instructed NOT to touch the neighbor's electrical panel (in a shared appliance space) and yet touched it repeatedly without permission from myself or the neighbors. He incorrectly concluded that we had a "mixed panel," which is absolutely not true, and even a novice electrician should have known. He turned off the power throughout my house multiple times without warning, interrupting work meetings. He incorrectly diagnosed the problem, and suggested a completely irrelevant solution. When I asked to learn more, he was aggressive and condescending when asking my questions. I told the company about this and they refused to refund the exorbitant visit fee, which was inflated by him doing more investigation due to his lack of understanding of the problem. I later solved the problem myself via a method that any competent electrician should have been able to recognize and rectify within a few minutes. I would never, ever recommend this service or Kristopher Farr to anyone.
