Five reviews, every one of them five stars, every one posted in 2018 — that is the whole of what homeowners have written about One Source Construction. The Southborough company points itself at a different market: on its own site it describes building for public entities and commercial clients across Massachusetts, and it lists the credentials that world runs on — DCAMM Prime General Building, a DCAMM filed-sub-bid certification for acoustical ceiling tile, OSHA and REAPP. It also states that it is a certified Women Business Enterprise, holding SDO/MA-WBE and federal WOSB certifications, plus an SDO/MA-PBE; its Houzz profile carries the same WBE/PBE line. Those are the company's own statements. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 168234, is active and stands in the company's own name. The residential work is real, and it is old. A 2018 reviewer wrote about a bathroom finished at a reasonable time and price. Another that year described a new kitchen delivered on time and on budget, naming the site manager who fielded every question. The most detailed of them, a homeowner extending a half-floor above his car bays, ran through his checklist out loud — a sane cost estimate, consistent change orders, licences and insurance certificates in the right names, subcontractors who actually showed, permits and inspections secured on schedule — and said One Source was the only firm he found with all of it in place. A fourth, writing in October 2018, credited the crew with flagging timelines, cost changes and subcontractor arrivals before they happened. What to ask about follows from those dates. Eight years is long enough for a crew to turn over, so ask who would actually run your job and for references from the past year. Ask too how a single-family remodel sits alongside the municipal and commercial work the company markets now. Houzz shows 15 posted projects and a MetroWest service area, and the construction-supervisor and home-improvement licences on that profile are Houzz's own entries rather than numbers anyone confirmed. For a MetroWest homeowner who wants a firm fluent in public-bid paperwork, permits and inspections, the active registration and those 2018 accounts are a fair starting point — then pin down current references and get scope and change-order terms in writing before signing.
Tony has been a pleasure to work with. He is very responsive, got the work done in our bathroom at a reasonable time and price! We will work with him again!!!
We love our new kitchen and I would recommend Todd Uminsky and our project site manager Steve Wass to anyone. We were on time and on budget, communication was fast and easy throughout and all of the work was done beautifully. Steve was really concerned about getting things done right and extremely responsive to any questions or problems we had, and was a pleasure to work with. Thanks so much!
Entire crew was courteous and professional the entire length of the project, always keeping us up to date on timelines, unexpected cost changes, when subcontractors would arrive, etc. Work was top notch.
Extremely professional in every detail. Look no further! I had all but given up hope of finding a contractor to do a modest structural improvement to my house (extending an existing half-floor above my car bays). Out of a large number of contractors listed on various web sites, One Source was the only company I found that has everything in place: reasonable and intelligent estimate of costs and reliable and consistent change orders as requested or required; legal details (all licenses and insurance certificates in the right names and immediately available and a legitimate and fair contract); subcontractors (ready and available to come, return and meet reasonable schedules); construction knowledge (made key suggestions to improve the final result with obvious understanding of the project's needs for a phased home improvement); online invoicing and payment; and timely securing of permits and inspections. I am an extremely demanding customer, and One Source Construction provided as close to a perfect construction experience as I could expect. Moreover, they are nice people to work with. They will be my only call when I'm ready for this project's next phase!
I have referred Once Source on various occasions and their work and professionalism is outstanding. Great workmanship, very responsive to client needs. Solid General Contractor for residential applications
