Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from ORC Contracting. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

ORC Contracting works out of New Bedford, taking on the kind of jobs a homeowner doesn't want to chase down three separate contractors for — a mailbox knocked over and needing replacement, a through-the-wall AC unit that didn't quite fit the old opening, trim and framing around ductwork. The company's own profiles put it at 28 years in business, though the same pages also describe 'over 20 years of hands on experience' in the about-us text — worth asking which figure is current when you call. The clearest pattern across its scattered reviews is speed paired with follow-through: a mailbox replacement finished the day after the request, an AC swap that required enlarging the wall opening handled without drama, and a 2021 customer who singled the crew out as the only contractor willing to actually drive out and look at a small job before quoting it. A 2020 Reddit thread in r/boston described trim, stairs and framing work around ductwork as top notch — with the caveat that it wasn't the fastest crew on that particular project. The written record here is thin — five reviews spread across five years and four platforms — so treat the 4.8-star average as a light sample rather than a settled verdict. There's no published license number on either directory profile, so it's worth asking directly about licensing and insurance before signing on. The company says it speaks Spanish and offers free estimates. For a homeowner with a short list of small-to-midsize repairs — a door, some trim work, a deck, a paint job — ORC looks like a reasonable call to get a quote from; just confirm current pricing, licensing and timeline before booking, since the record here doesn't say much about any of them.
“Thats exactly what I did, the plumbing and electrical. They did, drywall, trim, stairs and some framing around some ducts. Top notch work, but not the fastest.”

They redid parts of our basement at fairly reasonable prices.”
Replaced my mailbox after it was hit and taken down completely. Came the next day. Looks great, worked fast, Great work.
They removed an old thru the wall air conditioner unit and replaced it with a brand new unit. The dimensions were not the same so they had to enlarge the wall opening. They did a great job, everything is working fine and I would highly recommend Orc Contracting for future projects.
Here was the only person to take the time to contact me and come down and look at the work. The job was small but was done professionally in a reasonable time and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend him.
