Several of Oronoque Home Improvement's customers have come back for job after job. In an October 2023 Google review, a homeowner said they had called Jim for major projects over the last eleven years, this time a deck and two entry porches redone in composite. A September 2017 Angi reviewer said they had trusted the company since buying their house in 2004, and a June 2022 Google reviewer described a leak-driven bathroom remodel as their second project, after a full re-siding, trim, doors and roof job five to six years earlier. The Stratford company says it was founded in 1980 by Jim and Candy Faris as a painting company and later added carpentry, siding, decks, windows and doors. It offers free estimates and says it is insured. Angi shows 4.8 stars from 68 ratings, Google 4.9 from 11, HomeAdvisor 4.8 from six and Houzz 5.0 from two. Decks come up in reviews from 2019 to 2025. A September 2025 Angi customer said that when town building and zoning issues ruled out the larger deck they had planned, the crew built a patio in that space instead. An October 2022 reviewer said the team showed up at 8 am every day and finished a deck in five days. In a March 2023 Angi review, a multifamily landlord described a porch rebuild, a bathroom fan vented outside and a unit repair, and said Jim called during a cold snap to remind them to plug in the heated pipe wire his crew had installed. Cost and timing draw the complaints. A June 2019 Angi reviewer said the final bill came in 28% over the estimate. A May 2019 customer called the price for a composite porch deck a bit high and said the job ran longer than expected, though Jim stuck to the quoted price. Two other reviewers, in 2018 and 2019, said hidden water damage or a leak behind siding added to the cost, and one credited Jim with photographing the damage and explaining the rebuild. In an April 2018 Angi review, a snow-removal customer called the work overpriced and unprofessional, said the driveway was plowed after they asked it not to be, and said they paid someone else to finish.
