Osprey Electrical Contractors

Osprey Electrical Contractors is a Cape Cod electrical contracting company based in Orleans, incorporated in 2013 and run by president Douglas Velie with a small crew — customers most often mention two names, Alex and Jake, doing the actual work. The company, BBB-accredited since 2015 (also on file there under the alternate name Apt Electrical Systems, Inc.), handles residential wiring, generator installs, and lighting work across the Cape. Every review on file, six in all from 2023 through mid-2026, gives five stars, and the same specifics repeat across them. A recent review calls the team "absolutely outstanding... knowledgeable, efficient, committed to their work." Just before that window, in February 2026, a customer described Alex's team installing a whole-house generator at an excellent price — professional and responsive — that was "tested right out the gates" by a blizzard and "performed well." A 2025 review called pricing "respectable and honest." A 2024 reviewer, a Cape Cod resident of 24 years by their own account, called Jacob and Jake "the most professional team I have met," praising clear communication during the work. Another 2024 review describes a tricky retrofit — converting a fluorescent fixture to LED while preserving a wood lattice facade — handled by Jake and Alex. A 2023 review describes recessed lighting and a ceiling fan installed in a basement and bedroom, calling the crew "responsible, professional." A 2022 Reddit post adds a shorter, similar endorsement, calling the work "a great job." Its Massachusetts electrician license (#8601) is active, verified against the state registry and held directly by Osprey Electrical Contractors, Inc. BBB rates the business A+. For Cape Cod homeowners weighing anything from a generator install to a tricky retrofit, this is a small, licensed crew with a fully positive, multi-year public account behind it — worth reaching out early, since reviewers describe a team of four.
