Mr Cape Electrician

Forty-two Google ratings averaging a flat five stars, and two names doing most of the work in them: Sean and Adair. Mr Cape Electrician runs out of Barnstable and, in the company's own words, is a residential electrical contractor covering Cape Cod and the Islands — rewiring, panel upgrades, inspections, lighting and generator installation. The jobs customers describe are what old Cape housing stock demands. One June 2024 customer had their service upgraded from 100 to 200 amps with a new sub-panel run out to a shed; another the same month had a new 200A service run to an old barn. A homeowner writing in June 2024 about a 100-year-old Cape listed two bathroom fan-lights, rewiring and added fixtures in the kitchen, and a hard-wired camera and doorbell, with the crew cleaning up before they left each day. In July 2024, someone who called about a hot water heater had it diagnosed in Truro the same day. Communication keeps coming up. In a February 2025 Angi review, a customer said Sean answered their message within a minute and offered to stop by on his way home from a job 30 miles away; when he was running about half an hour late for the appointment, he texted. An August 2026 customer wrote that Adair and Sean diagnosed the problem and repaired a GFI outlet and its wiring in a timely manner, and another that month said the price was reasonable and the job went according to plan with no surprises or added fees. The company's Massachusetts electrician licence, #55688, is active on the state registry in Adair Martins's name, and its BBB page carries an A-. Two things to raise before booking. A November 2025 reviewer who praised the crew's timekeeping and documentation also noted that Sean was not the low bidder; several other customers call the rates fair, so if price decides it, get competing quotes. And a December 2022 Angi review, rated 2★, says the crew left without finishing a job — a large, complicated scope inherited from a previous contractor that the customer says they knew about going in, with working heat as the customer's stated priority. Good call for a Cape homeowner facing older wiring: a panel or service upgrade, new circuits and lighting in a house that was never built for them. Get the scope and the price in writing, and on a big multi-stage job, settle up front what counts as finished.
