Outerland

I made the switch to Outerland this year for landscaping and lawn care and want to share my experience: I started out with them this Spring with a plan to divide and relocate many bedding plants, prune a few very old apple trees, and plant an ornamental tree in a bed which previously held one. The teams who did this work -- led ably by Tyler and Matt -- were superb. They listened to what I wanted and made sure I was happy with the results before leaving for the day. I also want to say how completely happy I am with the robotic mower, which was recommended to me by Kevin during our first walkabout of my property in April. The photos attached here show the REMARKABLE difference this mower has made in my lawn quality in just one season. The first photo, showing a lumpy, patchy, unhappy lawn, was taken in the same week of August last year. I had been constantly watering and seeding but nothing helped. The lawn showed stress from the heavy tracks of the ride-on mower from the previous lawn care company and had permanent grooves in the soil where it had been driven, over and over, in the same pattern. Contrast that with the photo I took today of the same area, and you'll see a lush, culture-diverse, happy lawn. Rosie (as I've named my robot) mows every other day, snipping a small amount, leaving these micro-clippings behind (versus bagging and hauling), thereby putting valuable nutrients back into the soil and feeding the lawn at the same time. Rosie is programmed to match the contours of my lawn area perfectly (I have a 1/4 acre), and alternates the mowing pattern from side to side, to up and down, to diagonally each way every few days so there is no "stripe burn" in the grass. As we near the end of what's been a very hot, dry summer, my lawn is simply stunning, and I am amazed at the difference this one change has made. I highly recommend this method of lawn care; I never want my lawn mowed any other way! :) I also want to call out my wonderful Account Manager, Meghan. Meghan patiently helped me select my ornamental tree from a nursery where she has deep professional ties, advised me on relocating all the unhappy plants I wanted to move, and has overall been a tremendous resource, in addition to being a joy to work with. There is no question that Outerland is five star landscaping service. I can't say enough good things about the staff, especially Chris Warden, who goes out of his way to deliver the highest quality service I've ever experienced. Most recently, I've had tree and perennial installations, lawn maintenance, driveway installations and more. And, the team went out of their way to plow my driveway and walkway during the snow storms this winter. If you're looking for quality landscaping services at a competitive price, it hard to believe you can do better than Outerland!

Outerland completely transformed our yard and truly changed how the space feels. It now feels calm, welcoming, and like a natural extension of our home.
