Great experiences at first. However, most recently, I never heard back after reaching out multiple times. If services aren't available, it would be appreciated to receive a response saying that instead of being told that I will be put on the books/an appt made, with zero follow-up and appointment.
Josh is very professional and does a great job. I would call him again
If I could give them a 0, I would do so in a heartbeat. I was having new insulation installed when the workers foot went through my ceiling. Was informed their insurance would cover the cost. Called paragon immediately after this occurred . They asked for a picture which I sent and asked if the ceiling was horsehair plaster. I said I had no idea. After they received the pic, they informed me that it was horsehair plaster then told me they'd have an estimate to me . A few days later, I got a $2100 estimate then heard nothing for a few days. Finally emailed Josh to ask when this could be done as the heatwaves we've been having have made my living room unbearable. Josh agreed to do the work today, Thursday July 21. Weeks go by. I schedule my day off - which are rare to begin with -around this. Submit the claim to the insurance etc. The Friday prior to the 21st, Josh left me a voice mail at work asking me to call him back about my appointment. I called him within half an hour of his call. No response. Called 3 more times over as many days. Again, no response. Finally called again on Tuesday and while I was at work I finally get a call back only for Josh to tell me that he's unable to do the work because he is not equipped to work with horsehair plaster- oops gotta start over from scratch to find a contractor etc with an impending heat wave forecast to hit 100 degrees. I asked why he failed to let me know this at any time during any of our conversations and it was excuse after excuse after excuse. 'I had 44 voicemails and got behind' ' one of my guys told you that we could do this'- I have the written estimate from the company etc. I called Wilson plastering who I sent a picture to, explained the problem. He said no problem, he'll be out Thursday and sent me an estimate of $880 - LESS THAN HALF of what Josh and Paragon's estimate was. I wouldn't hire them ever and if you get an estimate, get others when dealing with Paragon and don't ever assume they'll keep their appointments or even bother to let you know for weeks or return calls.
Tried to get a simple job done from Josh to install a couple of doors. Not only did he delay the job for a couple weeks and made me wait, he then delayed it again and asked for 50% payment upfront. When I went to question him, he ignored my calls and texts, then he only called me back a week later when he thought I was someone else. Then he completely ghosted me after that and I had to find another handyman. How could anybody expect to be paid 50% upfront when they can’t even return a simple call or text in a timely fashion? Extremely unprofessional and very unresponsive. Also, his estimate was twice as much as the other handyman I ended up using. Boy Am I glad I dodged a bullet with this guy!
After a recent windstorm I needed someone to repair the siding on my house and replace the awning over my door that was destroyed by the winds. I was very fortunate to find Paragon Home Services to do this work. Paragon is run by a gentleman named Josh who is a very friendly, thorough. competent, and let me add talented jack of all trades handyman. I found him to be fair in how he determines the charges. The new siding and awning that were attached by Josh are on there good and tight and should survive any future windstorms. I confidently recommend Paragon to you.
