Pierce Refrigeration has been fixing heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems in West Bridgewater since 1936, when Leslie and Louise Pierce started the company in the basement of their Brockton home. Today it's run by partners Ron Zona, Steven Ryan, and Joel Freitas, working on both home HVAC and the walk-in coolers and freezers restaurants and stores depend on. On Google, the company holds 3.8 stars from 16 ratings. A 2022 reviewer who has used Pierce for regular central air servicing for years describes a knowledgeable technician who always arrives on time; a 2023 reviewer says a business partner's referral led to a same-day fix on a commercial cooler. Not every visit has gone that smoothly: a 2025 review describes a technician who arrived smelling of alcohol and never completed the scheduled maintenance, repeating an earlier assessment instead of doing the work that had been booked. The company's BBB file has carried an A+ rating since 1988. Further back, in 2016, the National Labor Relations Board assessed a $6,795 back-pay penalty against Pierce in an unfair labor practices case. For routine heating, cooling, or commercial refrigeration work, Pierce brings nine decades in the trade; given the mixed recent feedback, it's worth confirming who's being sent out and what's actually being done at the appointment.

I had a tech come out to assess an issue. He was professional and helpful. I then called the office to schedule the maintenance the tech recommended and confirmed they'd come back in a month to do 3 things. A different person comes out as scheduled, smelling like booze, and prepared to do none of the work. He proceeded to do the same evaluation the first tech did and tell me I needed to schedule the other things ahead. I told him that's what I had scheduled for that day. He went outside to "call his boss" to find out about these things and just came back in to repeat the same thing. After this guy left I called the office and asked about the things I had scheduled for that day and stated their employee smelled like alcohol. The man on the phone dodged my questions and was asking me if I was available for them to return the next day to do the work he said they'd do. I told him no and I wasn't going to proceed with his company. They then sent me a bill for $300.
They always do quality work. The technicians are knowledgeable and their customer service is great too!
Very good service
