Pine Tree Solar is a solar company that a 2022 Reddit commenter in r/maine said has its main office in Hermon, with smaller offices in the north and south. A 2022 Reddit commenter said they used Pine Tree Solar for their system and have 42 panels of 330W each. A 2022 Reddit commenter recommended the company and said to ask for Jim. A 2023 Reddit commenter said they were good. A 2023 Reddit commenter who works for another Maine-based solar contractor said they had not heard any good things about Pine Tree. A 2025 Google reviewer gave one star, saying they did not get the equipment they paid for, the job was abandoned before it was finished, and a bill for a final payment of $1,370 arrived a year after the company "went out of business". A 2024 Google reviewer wrote that the company was closed and that it looks like the owner wants to keep taking people's money with a different Google page.
“I have not heard any good things about Pine Tree, starting with a chat I had with a state electrical inspector a couple years ago”
“Well shoot, we're currently under a contract with Pine Tree Solar.”
“Pine Tree Solar is the company in the article.”
“Pine tree solar, they were good.”
“Pine tree solar!!! Highly suggest!! Ask for Jim.”
“Pine Tree Solar runs afoul of Maine's tax enforcers”
“A Hermon solar company at the center of numerous lawsuits is now being sued for nearly $500,000.”
If I could give less than one star, I would. This company was an absolute nightmare to deal with. We were continuously lied to, didn't get the equipment we paid for, and then abandon before the job was finished. To add insult to injury, they just sent us a bill for the final payment of $1370... a year after they "went out of business".
They were closed, finally, after taking so many people's and businesses money and not doing what they promised, but it looks like the owner wants to keep taking people's money, with a different Google page without the terrible reviews of the original, which still says "permanently closed". Run the other way people, giving a monkey your money will elicit better results.
