Typical fencing project around $6,000
A 6 ft cedar fence with wings tapering down to 4 ft, installed in one long day: that is how a recent customer described their Platinum Fence job, adding that the price was fair. The Hampton company says it has offered fencing to southern and seacoast NH, northern Massachusetts and southern Maine for over two decades, and its website states 30 years in business. It holds an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau and a 3.7-star Google average across 20 ratings. A 2025 customer said Blake of Platinum Fence had completed six fencing jobs for them over more than 25 years. A 2025 reviewer wrote that it was the fourth project Blake had done for them and the outcome was exactly what they had agreed upon. A 2025 customer said Blake and Kevin put in a cedar fence on their property line and a second, smaller metal fence to contain their pets. In a 2026 review, a customer said they paid a $2k deposit on a fence estimated at roughly $22k, and the start slipped from September to October and then further. That 2026 customer said Blake refused when they asked for the deposit back, then updated the review to say the court decided in their favor and Blake refunded the deposit within a month. A recent customer, a local contractor, said they sent final dimensions for materials and still had no estimate or communication over a week later. A 2022 customer said materials flying out of a Platinum Fence work truck smashed their windshield, and the owner told them to call their insurance company.
I am a local contractor, I stopped in last week and spoke with a man about some materials for an upcoming job this was my first time here. The conversation seemed to go good and I left confident that when I sent him the final dimensions (which I did an hour later) that he would get back promptly, after a few days of not hearing from anyone I called and spoke with the front desk, they passed the message along and still today, over a week later nothing, not just no estimate but no communication whatsoever, very disappointing
Great work by an outstanding team. We had a 6 ft high cedar fence with wings that taper down to 4 ft on either side installed. Decent size project done in one (long) day. The crew was very professional, the price was fair, and the job was super high quality. I get compliments from the neighbors all the time. Thank you Platinum Fence!!!
Platinum Fence is phenomenal. They go above and beyond to help their customers.
Update: The court decided in our favor, and I will give Blake credit for refunding our deposit within a month. —- Oof. Just stay away from Blake and Platinum. Blake was very accommodating when it came to getting an estimate (roughly $22k) in June of last year. I asked for an August start, but because they were (understandably) busy, I was promised September. I paid my $2k deposit after asking to not pay the requested $10k until closer to start; 50% up front seemed too much without a firm date commitment. Here’s where it gets interesting. As the end of August approached, neither my husband nor I could get ahold of Blake. When I finally did, he said the material was still on order- we’d start in October. Fine. Then he told me his storage shed burned down- more delays. In the meantime, I asked for 1) a picture of the type of fence he was installing (we discussed a decorative option but I never saw what it would actually be) and 2) info about permitting- did he do that, or did we? No reply, multiple times. Calls, emails, mailed letters. Around December, I requested our deposit be refunded. Blake refused, and told me I didn’t understand the point of a deposit. Isn’t it two-sided? You gotta actually *do* the work if you take the deposit, my friend. Now we’re headed to small claims, I’m out $2k, and I still don’t have a fence. I really wish this had ended better, but Blake has decided otherwise.
Blake: This was the fourth project you have done for us, and like the earlier ones, it was excellent. We appreciated being able to discuss the job with you beforehand and the outcome was exactly what we agreed upon. We would be pleased to provide a reference for your work anytime. Again….thanks.
