Post Road Iron Works is a Greenwich ironworks that says it has been in business for 99 years. A Greenwich news site has described it as a metal fabricating factory, and local news has covered proposals to redevelop its property with housing. The About text on its website lists the WTC Transportation Hub Oculus, The New Yankee Stadium, the September 11 Memorial and Lincoln Center for the Arts under the heading "Special". Its Better Business Bureau page shows an A+ grade. A 2025 customer, referred by local neighbors for a single railing down their outside front steps, said someone came out and spent 45 minutes discussing and measuring the job. That customer then spent 3 weeks chasing the estimate, heard a new reason each week, and hired an ironworks company in White Plains instead. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0530145, as active, held by Post Road Iron Works Inc.

Best people ever. IRON!!!
A great team to work with.
Run! Run! Run! While we got referred to this company from a few local neighbors for a small residential outdoor railing job, it was a big mistake. We were trying to hire and spend locally. For a single railing down our outside front steps, they sent someone for an estimate nearly 3 weeks ago - who seemed nice, competent and ready to work with us. He spent 45 minutes discussing it and measuring. It has been 3 weeks chasing to get an estimate. Each week a new reason why they haven't gotten to it yet. We found an AMAZING ironworks company in White Plains. Owner came within 2 days, estimate within a day and we just hired the White Plains company. Not sure what is happening at Post Road Iron Works - but if you are a residential potential customer, they are very disorganized and my sense is that residential is a very low priority. It was probably a good miss. If they cannot even get you an estimate, can you imagine chasing them for installation and any issues that may arise? Skip Post Road Iron Works... Not run well on the residential side.
