The company says it has been in business 50 years, and on its Houzz profile it describes a family-owned business founded in 1969 by Raymond A. Powell as R.A. Powell Construction, once a small excavation company. On Google it holds 4.6 stars from 170 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. In August 2026 a customer choosing pavers credited Jonathan in sales with showing them "many different options around the yard." A May 2026 review cites "prompt delivery and good prices." In a 2025 review, a first-time visitor described a "big place with tons of supplies and materials" with an efficient front desk, and a 2025 customer with a bark mulch problem wrote that Dave and the general manager "went out of their way to accomodate me." The complaints are about the material itself. In May 2026 a customer who ordered 3/4 processed gravel for a sports court base under asphalt found it "much sandier than expected" after delivery, bought replacement material the same day, and received a partial credit of $285.54. A July 2026 review says they were given "bad advice on what kind of stone to use," and a May 2026 review describes loam that was "full of broken glass and rocks." That gravel customer's own advice: confirm the exact material specifications and intended use before delivery.
