Joe Hernandez and Kristen Ford-Hernandez run Premiere Pros out of Hingham as a husband-and-wife shop; the company says it was formed in 2006, six months after Kristen hired Joe's company for repairs and painting at her own house. Most of what homeowners write about is one kind of job: the kitchen you keep rather than gut — cabinets refaced or repainted, new hardware, a new countertop and tile backsplash, walls redone. Houzz carries 80 ratings at 4.8; Google's 22 average 4.4. In a September 2023 Houzz review, a customer listed the whole package — cabinet refacing and new hardware, composite countertops and sink, tile backsplash, painted kitchen walls — and called the pricing competitive. A July 2025 Google reviewer credited the design knowledge, workmanship and communication on a remodeled kitchen. A March 2021 Angi reviewer spelled out the method: the cabinet fronts come off, and the paint is applied and cured in the workshop. In a November 2023 Google review, a homeowner said interior paint from a year earlier was holding up well. Kristen handles the color and design side in most of these accounts. An October 2024 Google reviewer emailed for an estimate on painting kitchen cabinets and walls, heard back quickly, and had her at the house helping choose cabinet and wall colors. Another September 2023 Houzz reviewer wrote that a slight problem with the backsplash was taken care of immediately with no fuss. Its BBB page is an A+. Not every kitchen has gone that way. A June 2026 Houzz reviewer said cabinets painted three years earlier were chipped and peeling, and that the first time the finish failed the company said the paint was defective and repainted them. A March 2022 Angi reviewer said their project ran well past the agreed completion date, and that carpentry for a different customer was performed in their living room while their own job was underway. A November 2024 Houzz reviewer called the company unprofessional, describing excuses and blame put on others, and in March 2026 a Google reviewer wrote only that the company is awful and to avoid it. Two customers who gave five stars flagged softer versions of the same edges: an October 2023 Houzz reviewer thought communication could be a bit better, and an October 2020 Angi reviewer noted a long lead time before work started. For a kitchen you want updated rather than rebuilt, this is a shop people call back — a May 2022 reviewer had done two projects and was planning a third. Before signing, ask what the cabinet finish is warranted for and what happens if it chips, and put the completion date and who will be on site in writing.
