The story that comes up most is drainage: one customer's sloped yard had been sending water into the basement, and after Presidential Park regraded the lot and replanted, the pooling stopped and the lawn came back green. Others hired the crew for stone patios and walkways — one couple had two patios and a front walkway built and singled out how Carnes walked them through stone choices while keeping the price reasonable; another had a lawn put in after a septic replacement plus a large stone patio, calling both jobs "perfect." Its BBB file backs that up with an A+ grade and no complaints on record, though the business isn't BBB-accredited. There's not much to flag. The clearest gap is volume: eleven reviews is a thin sample for a company claiming four decades of work, and it has no reviews yet on Houzz or Angi — both list it as a brand-new profile. The company's own founding story doesn't fully line up with the public record, either: its site and Angi both cite 1985, but BBB has the business incorporated in 2000, and a third-party directory lists 1989. None of that is a red flag by itself, just something the years-in-business claim shouldn't be taken at face value on. There's no state license to check here — Massachusetts doesn't license landscaping-only contractors, so the absence of one is normal, not a gap. Presidential Park reads like the right call for hardscape work — patios, walkways, retaining walls, drainage fixes — and for homeowners who want an ongoing relationship rather than a one-off job. Given the modest review count, it's worth asking for a couple of references from recent, similarly-sized projects before signing on, especially if the job is bigger than routine maintenance.
