Professional Handyman is a Worcester-based, owner-operated business run by Christopher Chiras, offering a broad range of home-improvement labor — carpentry, plumbing, painting, windows, light electrical, flooring, roofing, siding, and bathroom and kitchen remodeling, according to its own website. The reviews on file, seven of them from the past six months, are consistently positive and specific. In a 2026 review, a homeowner described hiring Chris for crumbling front stone steps and praised his responsiveness and open communication throughout. Another 2026 review described plumbing work done at a reasonable price, with the crew cleaning up after finishing. A separate 2026 review described Chris and his team responding quickly to ice-dam water damage across two apartments in a two-family home, coordinating repairs directly with the tenants. There's one significant thing worth knowing before hiring: the business's own website and its Angi profile both state it holds active Massachusetts and Worcester home-improvement-contractor licensing, but Massachusetts's own registry shows that exact license number, 208076, as expired. The website also lists additional credentials — an engineering certification and a doctorate in interior design — that aren't independently verified here. None of this reflects on the quality of the completed jobs described in the reviews, but it's worth asking Chris directly about his current license status and these other credentials before signing anything. For plumbing, carpentry, painting, or masonry repair work around Worcester, Professional Handyman's recent reviews describe responsive, fairly priced work — just confirm the licensing situation directly, since what's advertised doesn't match what the state registry currently shows.
We hired Chris for a stone-work job. Our front steps were crumbling and unstable. Chris was responsive, reasonably priced, and had open communication throughout the whole job. We’ll definitely be keeping him in mind for future projects.
These guys seem to do everything at a price that can't be beat. Glad I found them
