If you’re like 99% of the population, the thought of doing construction on your house probably fills you with dread. Nothing is ever finished when they say it will be, everything costs more than you thought it would, you don’t know what’s happening half the time, and somehow, you just accept that this is what construction is like. Well, Peter Berube and Berube Construction completely changed that for me. We first started talking with Peter at the end of March about a pretty major project in our house: building a new walkin closet, creating a walkway into another part of the house, and remodeling our primary bedroom. We kicked off construction in April, and completed it the end of July! And I cannot say enough good things about the experience. Peter is just a really great human. He’s kind, smart, thoughtful, honest, and incredibly communicative. We always knew what was happening. If something was scheduled for the next day, Peter gave us a heads up. We were never left wondering where everyone was or what was going on. And here’s another big one: we paid what we expected to pay. There wasn’t a constant stream of, “Oh, actually, this is going to be another $X.” The amount we agreed to was the amount we paid. Then there’s his crew—Rob, Robb, Ben, and Noah, to name a few. These guys were in our home for months, and they were wonderful: kind, respectful, accommodating, funny, and, most importantly, true craftsmen. They cared about what they were doing, and it shows everywhere I look. I honestly keep trying to come up with *something* negative because who finishes a construction project and has nothing to complain about? Me! I have ZERO complaints. Emphatically ZERO. Our bedroom and closet are absolutely beautiful. They took this part of our house and turned it into a sanctuary, and I am beyond pleased with how everything turned out. So, a huge, huge thank you to Peter, Rob, Robb, Ben, Noah, and everyone at Berube Construction. Thank you not only for the beautiful work, but also for being such genuinely awesome and kind people to have in our home. You completely changed my perception of construction. Would I hire them again? In a heartbeat.

Peter and his crew did an excellent job with a two story addition with kitchen renovation. We are very happy with the quality of work and highly recommend them. Peter's crew were very professional, highly skilled, kept the work site as clean as possible. Project included everything from framing with steel beams to installing kitchen cabinets to tiling. All of his sub contractors also did a great job.

Peter added a 12x20 kitchen addition and went up a level to create a master bedroom/bath on my house 20+ years ago. When I bought a new house and decided to add a master bedroom/bath and a sunroom, and replace the floor throughout the house, I reached out to him first. I am so glad he was available. They are incredibly meticulous and pay attention to detail. They were on time every day and at the end of the day, they vacuumed everything and cleaned up all the stock and equipment. They worked with me every step of the way if I had questions or wanted to change something, and gave me suggestions when a decision had to be made. God willing I won't need another addition on any house, but if I do, he will be my first call. I would recommend Peter and his team for any construction project you have in mind.

We highly recommend PS Berube Construction! Peter was one of three bids that we received for our major home renovation. From the initial walk-through to the final sign-off, Peter was respectful, honest, and responsive. At the beginning of each week, he communicated his plan to us and regularly exceeded our expectations. Peter and his crew arrived on time each day and ensured their workspace was clean and tidy by the end. When met with unexpected conditions given the age of our home, Peter provided his guidance from years of experience on how we should proceed. Every single trade that Peter brought to the project was as thorough and meticulous about their work as him and his crew. Given the size of our project, we weren't sure what to expect, but Peter and his crew made it look easy. In the end, we absolutely love our fully renovated home, and look forward to working with Peter on our future home construction needs.

I highly recommend PS Berube Construction! I first met Peter Berube when he was working on an addition for my neighbors that started in November 2019. By way of background, our road is a narrow dead-end road. So, it can be a challenge when one of us is having something big delivered that takes time to unload or there are construction or landscaping trucks parked for the day. Peter came bounding across their lawn to ask if any of his crew’s trucks needed to be moved since I was heading out to work. I was impressed when he handed me his card and asked me to call or text him if I had any issues with his crew not moving trucks, loud music, etc. “We like to be good neighbors.” The project was able to continue through the early days of the pandemic, so I had front row seats to their renovation project. I enjoyed talking with his friendly crew especially since I was now working from home with only Zoom and Teams calls for interactions with other people during the day. They left a neat work site at the end of the day. My neighbors were very happy with the outcome of their project. When I finally decided to pull the trigger on my much-needed kitchen renovation I reached out to Peter. I thought his prices were fair as I had received two other bids prior to the pandemic that I thought were on the high side. I described what I wanted to do, and he recommended Kitchen Associates in Sterling, MA for the kitchen cabinets and design work (I would highly recommend them as well). Many of his crew members and subcontractors who worked on my neighbors’ project worked on mine. They frequently commented that many of their projects came through word of mouth, so it wasn’t uncommon for them to work on multiple projects in the same neighborhood or town. Peter, his crew, and subcontractors are top notch and take pride in their work. They all left a clean work site at the end of each day. In fact, I teased Ryan who works for Peter that he left the kitchen cleaner than I had handed it to him and that was after a day of demolition. Peter is very responsive to texts and emails. The project started on November 11 and finished when I expected it to in mid-January. Given Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the size of the project that involved taking the kitchen down to the studs for a complete rewiring and new electrical panel, taking down a wall, and throw in COVID, I think 2 months is record time. I am beyond thrilled with my new kitchen and highly recommend PS Berube Construction without reservation.
