The praise for Quality Insulation names people — Jose, Darren, Zachary, Charlie. The complaints name a silence: two homeowners, two years apart, describe a manager who promised to fix something and then stopped answering. The company works out of 2 Industrial Rd in Milford, and BBB puts it at 58 years in business, incorporated in 1993, with T J Polland as owner and James Cook as division manager. On Angi and HomeAdvisor it describes itself as a TruTeam company. What people mostly hire it for is insulation — attic work, spray foam, air sealing — with seamless gutters and garage doors as a second line. When the job goes well, homeowners thank the installers by name. A 2022 reviewer credited Jose, Christian and Neil with attic insulation done with attention to detail and explained step by step; a 2024 customer said Darren and Steven laid out the whole process in terms he could follow; another in 2024 singled out Zachary on a gutter job for answering every question right away. A commenter in a February 2026 Worcester-area Reddit thread about spray foam called the Milford outfit a solid pick. Google sits at 4 stars across 24 ratings. The complaints are fewer and heavier, and they rhyme. In July 2026 a homeowner wrote that foundation waterproofing done on a 2019 new build, carrying a ten-year warranty against water leaks, kept failing at the same cracks — and that when water came through the wall again in March 2026, a sales rep and then a manager stopped returning calls and emails. A 2024 reviewer told a similar arc on the insulation side: a missed section of open-cell foam, a return visit two weeks after it was promised, new windows and plywood floors left to be scraped clean, and a manager who said he would investigate and never called back. A 2023 one-star review alleges improper fiberglass batt and spray foam installation, and in 2025 someone in Cambridge described asking a crew to move a truck out of the road and being flipped off. Two things to check before signing. State records show the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration as expired. And its BBB page is an A+ with no complaints posted, while the detailed one-star accounts sit on Google — worth reading both before you decide. For a defined attic, air-sealing or gutter job, the crews earn the praise they get. If the work carries a long warranty — waterproofing especially — pin down in writing who answers the phone when it fails, and confirm the registration status yourself.
“Quality Insulation out of Milford is pretty good.”
“Did everything they asked of me and then some and they couldn't have been less appreciative. They do not pay fairly.”
“Birmingham v. Quality Insulation and Building Products of Massachusetts, Inc. (4:16-cv-11387), Massachusetts District Court”
Quality Insulation foundation-proofed my new build back in 2019 with a 10-year warranty against water leaks. Over the years, water continued coming through the exact same foundation cracks they supposedly "fixed" multiple times. In March 2026, the water issues returned again—with visible water leaking through the wall directly onto my basement floor below grade. When I reached out, sales rep Mark LaChance assured me they would fix the problem, only to completely disappear and ignore every follow-up call. Manager Justin Gelinas was even worse: total radio silence, ignored emails, and unreturned phone calls. They say that the warranty "only covers water, not moisture, and must be below grade"—ignoring the photos clear as day showing water below grade on my floor. They do not honor their 10-year warranty, and their customer service is atrocious. Avoid Quality Insulation at all costs.
Chris Nordstrom was incredible to work with, professional, punctual and communicative. Pricing was great and the product was better- he helped us in ways we didn’t know we needed and has been awesome through the whole process. Would hire, and intend to hire, again.
Quality did an excellent job installing insulation and air sealing our attic. Would highly recommend!
One of their work trucks was blocking the road (Dover street in Cambridge, July 18th 2025). When I asked if they could park their truck a bit further in the driveway so it wasnt blocking the road, their employee flipped me off. Highly unprofessional and they clearly have no regard for the communities they serve.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM Update: manager replied which is phone number, I called him, he said they were in the wrong and would call me back after he investigated, a week later I have gotten no response. They forgot to spray a portion of the open cell insulation, when I called them they did come back to spray after 2 weeks of them telling me they’d be there the next day, but didn’t recover windows and flooring, in result they Left a mess at my project I had to scrape off brand new windows and off the plywood floors. I was going to just chalk it up to a learning experience and go with someone else for future projects. They only sent me 3 of their 5 invoices, which i figured since they were still working on those areas of the scope they would send later. The salesman proceeded to send me a text saying they were going to put a lean on the house for the invoices they never even sent to me. I don’t know how they expected me to pay and invoice I never even received, and to threaten me with a lean due to their negligence is extremely unprofessional not to mention the added work they made for me.
