Quality Propane is a propane and heating company whose website says it covers heating, hot water, 24-hour emergency service and home accents, and says it has been in business 46 years. In 2024, a customer said Kevin surveyed an old boiler and hot water heater, then led a day-long install of a Navien combination boiler, removed the old equipment, ran a new exhaust line and left the basement spotless. A 2025 customer said Kyle came out for a new propane furnace that had produced no heat for two days and found a frozen drainage pipe, with the problem resolved a little over an hour from the call. In 2023, a customer said Blake measured and customized duct work for a furnace and AC replacement in a basement only 4 feet high, and the job was done in one day. A 2025 customer said the company replaced a Rinnai on-demand water heater after finding a serious leak in the old one. A Reddit commenter in r/Connecticut said they have had good luck with Quality Propane and very good service. A recent customer said a driver's supply hose blocked a shared driveway and the driver refused to move it. A recent customer said the company canceled a formal contract and raised the price. A recent customer said the gas line and equipment installed for a generator kept over-cranking it and was told the wrong part had been installed. In 2026, a customer said their elderly mother ran out of propane and the company would not deliver until a past-due balance and a $205 leak inspection fee were paid.
“I have good luck with Quality Propane. Reasonable prices and very good service.”
Very rude. Don't believe the ads on the radio. Driver's supply hose was blocking the shared driveway preventing me from accessing my house. I got out of my car and asked him if I could drive over the hose. He said "no" and said I would "need to wait" for him to finish. I told him that was unacceptable, and that he needed to move the hose or his truck, which he easily could have done. He refused, but then was miraculously finished. No apology, just shaking his head, giving me a hard stare, the typical garbage. Funny thing is I'm about to price out getting propane for my house, since I can't get natural gas service where I am. I can tell you one company I won't be calling.
This company lacks integrity. Brenda, particularly, is dishonest and passive-aggressive. The company unilaterally canceled a formal contract and raised the price. My inquiries were met with lies, deceit and a very bad attitude. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. There is no shortage of propane suppliers.
I had a generator put in and quality propane put in the line to my generator. I have had 5 code e1100. Which is an over crank code. The pressure from the line and equipment they installed keep over cranking the generator, it will not start. Every-time I call QP tells me call the generator installers, which I do and they come out and charge me. Then I have to call QP to fix their part of the problem . . I have only had this generator for a year. I’m told that is the wrong part they installed. QP did not install the recommended parts that work the best with my generac.
Customer service has really gone down hill.
If you have an elderly parent or loved one that uses this company for propane please beware! The almighty dollar comes before human life with this company. My elderly mother called me who is on a fixed income, she was wondering how to stop the pipes in her house from freezing, extremely alarmed I asked why did the furnace break? Her answer really alarmed me and it was because she ran out of propane and they would not deliver any fuel until her past due amount was paid. As people who have elderly parents know there is a pride factor when it comes to stuff like this and she was trying to take of the bill on her own. She had some money saved to put on the bill and what she owed with the amount she had saved was less than $500 for less than $500 dollars owed they would not deliver fuel. So my mom called and paid what she could and without hesitation I would pay the remaining balance, so I called to pay the amount that was less than $500. I was absolutely horrified at what they were doing. They said that's nice you want to pay but there is also an extra $205 dollars that you will also have to pay for a leak inspection because she ran out of propane. I was like you just did a leak inspection last month because apparently according to you she ran out last month. The woman replied yes, there is nothing we can do about it, it's for insurance. I said you could try to work with her and lower the inspection price there are things you can do but refuse to do. I was pretty heated at this point because they ARE taking advantage of senior citizens, and with endless revolving door of added fees, my mom would never be able to dig out of this hole. Nobody knew how cold this winter would be and people are struggling and instead of saying hey we see you get no propane in the summer because your propane is only used for heat can we setup a payment plan of $100 dollars a month and we can get this bill taken care of in less than 5 months. But no instead they refused to help and did nothing to alleviate the situation. I paid the everything, the $205 and the $400 remaining balance. My mom got her delivery, I called up my mom and asked if anyone came in the house to check for any leaks? Did anyone go under your house to check for leaks? The answer was no and I had to reset the furnace myself. To say the least I am beside myself in how much of a ripoff this company is, I knew that leak inspection was just a gimmick especially since they were there last month to do the same thing which was nothing. When you check on your elderly family and neighbors don't take it for granted that the house is warm one day because the next day it might not be. At least for this company they couldn't careless about a person in a house with no heat but they need that almighty dollar right now. You hear about these types of situations and never think it could happen to someone you love but it is real, companies like these would rather let someone freeze to death or risk a house fire trying to warm themselves than to do the right thing and setup a payment plan or some other means of rectifying the situation, I guess for them its just easier and more beneficial to deny someone their only source of heat.
