Flexible scheduling — a 2026 customer said they were flexible for mantle work
A 150-year-old basement re-pointed from end to end is the kind of job R.F Masonry & Builders takes on. The company says it specializes in chimney rebuilds, restorations, inspections, fireplace modifications, hardscapes, custom water features, foundation work and renovations, and says it has been in business 20 years. Its BBB grade is A+.
One recent customer said the company re-pointed the entire basement of a 150-year-old house, repaired several joists and beams, re-pointed exterior brickwork above ground and worked to resolve a leaky area around old basement windows. That customer said the work was done cleanly and quickly at a reasonable price, and thanked Robert and Mary-Kate. A recent customer said they laid a patio for the customer's company and helped move a granite countertop to a condo when the customer had been left stranded.
A 2026 customer said RF Masonry removed an old chimney from a home the customer had just purchased, and that Bob and Mary-Kate expedited the job and communicated throughout the removal. A 2026 customer said they were flexible about scheduling for mantle work done ahead of a wood stove installation, and that the stove installers liked the work.
A 2025 customer said Bob Fraser gave a competitive bid and started and completed the dismantling of a large 75-year-old chimney with a heavy concrete top as promised and on time. In that 2025 review, the customer said Bob kept the work area clean and that Bob and the other mason cleaned up when the project was completed, including washing all five skylights.

Only awesome experiences with this company. Laid a patio for our company which came out beautiful and durable. I got in a bind needing to move a granite countertop to a third story condo and another company left me stranded but these guys helped me out and got it done. 5 star company !!
RF Masonry & Builders just completed an excellent project for us. They re-pointed the entire basement of our 150 year old house, repaired several joists and beams, re-pointed brickwork on the exterior above ground and worked to resolve a particularly leaky area around old basement windows.
The team did an excellent job on the project, worked cleanly/quickly and were reasonably priced.
Absolutely will be using them again on an exterior hardscape project for our house next year.
Thank You Robert and Mary-Kate for such professional and expert work on the project!
They are great! I needed some mantle work done in advance of a wood stove installation and they were flexible about scheduling and did amazing work. Installers of stove loved their work also, highly recommend!
We were fortunate to hire RF Masonry to remove an old chimney from a home we just purchased. We didn’t realize how degraded the chimney was until Bob and Mary-Kate expedited our job. They communicated with us throughout the process of removal and dispensing of the material. Any issues that needed to be discussed were done at a professional level with outstanding results. We can’t thank RF Masonry enough. We wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again!
We highly recommend Bob Fraser and R.F. Masonry and Builders. Our new chimney is beautiful! Bob gave us a competitive bid, and started and completed this massive project as promised and on time. This project involved dismantling a large 75-year-old chimney that had an enormous and very heavy concrete top. The concrete was splintered in some areas, and very much in danger of having pieces break off. Bob was easy to communicate with, kept the work area very clean and neat, and took all necessary safety precautions. Bob and the other mason were easy to have around, and they did a good job cleaning up when the project was completed--including washing all five skylights. R.F. Masonry and Builders are skilled craftsmen and their work is top notch.
