The two most detailed accounts on record are troubling. In a November 2025 review, a customer described a $182,000 foundation waterproofing job and French drain installation that failed within weeks — moisture and mold got worse, a previously dry wall started leaking, and despite a stated 20-year warranty, messages and even a police inquiry went unanswered. What's worth confirming before hiring: Massachusetts's contractor licensing board shows the company's registration REVOKED as of July 2026, per BuildZoom's report of the registry. One reviewer also alleged the business's listed home and office addresses are mail drops rather than a real presence, though that claim is unverified. And Angi's own FAQ states the company does not offer warranties, which sits at odds with the 20-year warranty described in the waterproofing complaint above. Given the size and severity of that failed foundation job, get everything — warranty terms, licensing, and a verifiable address — in writing and confirmed independently before signing a contract of any size.

Flat, Foam or Single Ply Roofing Repair — $60,000. Sean likely underestimated the cost of the job, which was initially replacing the roof shingles (@1000 sq. ft) and repairing a chimney. Once he opened the roof, he said we needed a complete rebuild and the price tripled. I believe we were charged more than twice what a new roof should cost. The job was finished quickly and the actual roofers worked hard. Cleanup was good. Four things: one of the shingles on the pitch came loose after the first storm; the roof extension over the front bay window leaked after the shingles were replaced but not waterproofed where they met the house; one of the gutters they were to replace was left detached, and a piece in the neighbor's yard; and last, our working chimney (vents the furnace) was clogged with bricks, trash, and even a safety vest that had been thrown down it during the chimney repair, requiring a plumber's visit. Be wary of this company when it comes to roofing.

Review of Rain and Shine Masonry (Owner: Sean Boyne): After Sean waterproofed my foundation and installed a French drain, both failed within weeks, moisture and mold worsened, and a previously dry wall began leaking, leaving me with severe mold and massive repair costs. Despite a contractual 20-year warranty, Sean ignored all my messages and even a police inquiry. His listed ?home and business addresses? are only mailboxes, seemingly to avoid accountability. The project also involved a roof replacement that ended up costing nearly triple a typical price. Midway through, he said my roof plywood was below code, and that I needed major attic reconstruction, including rebuilding all of the roof valleys. The reconstruction turned out to be quite limited. I believe he overcharged by tens of thousands. He first underquoted, then added thousands once work began on the foundation project. Sean is in breach of contract and warranty.
