I got a quote from Mike in an orange 2wd pickup, asked them to do another layer over the base that's been down for 65 yrs and isn't moving. He insists they need to rip it, fluff it up, and then put down the new layer. It will then settle over time and crack when it settles. They won't just put a layer down,, so they can charge more by ripping it up and tamping. Frustrating. The 65 yr old base is stable. It's not what the customer wants, they want to sell what they can make the most cash from.
Last min decision. The crew was able to fit me in within less than a week and did everything i was looking for . Great Job. Price is very reasonable. My father used them less than a year ago and is very pleased and recommended them to me..
With how competitive this industry is I thought it was important to leave my honest review a few months later. I reached out to roughly 4-5 companies to get quotes on replacing my entire driveway. Reliable paving was the first company that came out and I believe the sales guys name was Mike. Although Mike was a good guy it was evident his only objective was to make a sale (I don’t blame him). An example of this was I was going back and forth with him via text about the job and quote, and randomly he was like “I’m sorry what location is this again?” A red flag of mine was the fact that they do everything in one day. Whereas every other company ripped up old driveway and waited roughly 30 days before pouring and rolling new driveway. I was able to look past that because logically it made sense to me. A big selling point for me was they did work with me on price which was fine. However, Mile neglected to let the office know and the women who takes care of setting up schedule and payment had nothing that says we agreed on a lower price. Although they gave me the price Mike and I agreed on it’s the principle behind it. The communication or lack there of. Made me as the customer look like I’m trying to get get a fast one by them which was not the case. Another selling point for me was the same women told me that the owner is the one on site rolling the driveway. I loved that! Anytime owner is on site like that tells me the work is great and will get done properly. I was lied to. I walked outside during the driveway install and I went over to shake the “owners” hand and I was simply said “hi, my name is Dan are you the owner?” And the kid was like “haha no if I was the owner I’d have a better truck” so that was a massive disappointment. I had a scheduled appointment and the morning of I got a call saying a part of their machine was broken that day and they wouldn’t be out to start the work. Again same women made that call. I will give her credit and she did call first thing in the morning (maybe like 7:15am I got the call) she also told me she would call me back asap to get me back on schedule. Well hour go by and still no call so like clock work me and the customer had to call (this was roughly 1030 am) and she was basically giving me bs about just getting into the office and she was going to call me. Also, another selling point for me was she told me they only don’t driveways per day. Keep that in mind She finally got me on the scheudle a few days later and I was told the crew would arrive sometime late morning. Hour and hours go by still nothing. I called and was told a crew was on the way. More hours go by. Finally around 3-4pm the crew shows up and I assumed I was the final job of the day. They literally arrived and said “sorry we have been busy all day and you are our fourth drives today”. So Much for only doing two a day. So my first though was “great these guys are tired from working in the heat all day and I’m the last of four driveways these guys are going to rush though it.” And boy was incorrect. See pictures below. You can see the inconsistency in however did the rolling of the driveway. You can see the mess they left at the bottom of the driveway. You can the damage to my walkway when the rolled over it and left scratches. I sent these pictures to the same lady at the office with no response. They told me the mess at the begging of driveway would go away with time. Months later still there. Actually, about 5 driveway's in my area got done around same time by other companies and no mess was left at all. Again, I think they were rushed and didn’t care to do it right. Very disappointing. Especially because I paid thousands for a new driveway. It’s evident it’s all about bagging out jobs, collecting money and moving on. Was absolutely not the family owned job I was hoping I was going to get. Please please do your research with other companies before moving forward with this company. I paid thousands for a damaged walk way, a mess at the start of my driveway and inconstant rolling.
This is the second time we used Reliable. The first time they came to our door in Manchester and offered us a great deal. Normally I don't agree to that type of thing but our driveway did need some help. They came the next day! They also went above and beyond and did our walkway for no extra cost. They did a beautiful job and I couldn't have been more pleased. We moved about an hour to away to Niantic and saw that they worked in our area too. This time we called them. They doubled the size of our driveway as requested, they work fast and efficiently. The supervisor on the job was super nice and respectful, always double checked with me before, during and after the project to make sure everything was how we wanted it. Again, they did another beautiful job. All our neighbors complimented on how nice it looked. They cleaned up nicely too, just leaving us with a gorgeous driveway. I highly recommend Reliable Paving. Oh and I forgot to mention, their prices are very reasonable!
From start to finish, we couldn’t be happier with our experience! Andy, the owner, was absolutely awesome to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and truly cared about making sure everything was done right. He kept us informed throughout the entire process and made everything easy from beginning to end. We also have to give a huge shout-out to the secretary. She was wonderful to deal with—friendly, helpful, patient, and always willing to answer our questions. She made the communication and scheduling process so easy and was a pleasure to work with. Having someone so pleasant and organized behind the scenes really made a difference! The crew was hardworking, courteous, efficient, and took pride in what they were doing. Watching the driveway go from the original condition through the preparation, grading, paving, and finishing stages was incredible. The finished driveway looks phenomenal! I would highly recommend Andy and his crew to anyone looking for quality asphalt work. From the first conversation to the final result, they delivered an outstanding experience and an even better driveway. Five stars all the way!
