We have been working with Ted for over three years now, and it’s hard to put into words how invaluable he has been to our home and our family. When we moved in, the house was half unfinished and honestly barely livable. Ted and his team stepped in and completely transformed it. Over the years, he has redone our driveway with stone, lighting, and paving; removed a basketball court and replaced it with a beautiful playground, stone patio, grill, and bar area; winterized our cottage and redid the roof; installed a new cupola; hung a chandelier; installed lighting and mounted a TV into stone; capped countless holes left by previous work; created a home gym; and spent months at our house early on just making it comfortable and functional for our family. What truly sets Ted apart is who he is as a person. He is incredibly reliable, honest, and consistent. He uses the same trusted team and vendors, many of whom have been with us since before my boys were born. That kind of continuity and trust is rare and means everything to us. His projects are always well-organized and consistently meet deadlines. When we first met Ted, we asked him to walk through the house we now live in to give us his opinion on what it would take to make it livable. He was completely honest and told us not to buy it because it was overpriced for the amount of work it needed. We didn’t listen—and bought it anyway. Ted never said “I told you so.” Instead, we called him immediately to start work, and we’ve been working with him ever since. He’s the kind of contractor who will stop by just to help secure a bar into the floor because you’re worried it’s not safe. That’s who Ted is—someone who genuinely cares, goes above and beyond, and treats your home like it’s his own. We couldn’t recommend Ted more highly. If you’re looking for a general contractor you can truly trust, Ted is it.
Ted did a beautiful job on the Ponus Rige antique renovation that I recently photographed for his portfolio. Not only is his work exceptional, he maintatined a great relationship with the family who engaged Renaissance Partners for the job and they were clearly very happy with their choice of builder.
Renaissance did a complete master bath remodel for us. They did a beautiful job. Work was neat, workers were on time, the owner, Ted, had great suggestions for us. Can't say enough great things
I first met with Ted to discuss my plans for renovating a 40 yr old townhouse. After working with an architect to develop the plans, we submitted the plans out to bid to three recommended contractors. Ted's response the the plan was by far the most detailed and prodfessional of the responses. This gave me great confidence that I would be working with a professional and would greatly eliminate the " surprise factor " along the way. Ted and his crew were always on time and totally professional. The subcontractors he worked with were also professiona and excellent. Ted was not afraid to hold the subs up to the highest of standards. When surprises occurred, as they inevitably do, Ted offered solid advice as to how best to proceed. I was very pleased with the final result and would highly recommend him to anyone. It's never easy but when with Ted it will be as a god experience as it can be under the circumstances.
Ted and his crew are a delight to work with. They work with integrity-- while they were renovating our master bath, they discovered that the floors in our house aren't level, so they backtracked their work to relevel the floors, made things right, and the bathroom is now very clearly the best built room in our house. Ted is easygoing and fun, and he's super clear at communicating his process. He never dismissed our wild ideas and even made a few of them happen. Once he got the aesthetic vision we were going for, he found us the perfect materials, hardware and fixtures to make it all come together. It's just a gorgeous bathroom, and it makes us happy every day.
