Rezz Electric's written history is a time capsule: six five-star accounts, every one of them from between July 2017 and February 2018. What has kept moving is the work — 85 permitted electrical projects under James Resendes, running from house rewires and panel and service upgrades to kitchen-remodel wiring, HVAC split-system circuits, and fitouts for a salon and apartment buildings. That mix is the useful part: a homeowner-facing electrician who also handles commercial work, not a commercial shop taking the occasional house call. The old accounts are worth reading precisely because they are specific. In September 2017 a customer described a dead bathroom ceiling fan and light — Jim laid out the options from most expensive to least, the cheapest one solved it, and when Home Depot did not stock the part he went elsewhere to find it, then cleaned up so completely there was no sign of the work. In October 2017 another wrote that he called back immediately, showed up as expected, and had the lights in that morning. A July 2017 customer described a prompt callback and a same-day estimate from the owner. Responsiveness and plain explanation run through all six — an eight-year-old pattern, so read it as history rather than a promise about this month. Two paperwork problems are worth settling before you call. The licence records on BuildZoom do not hold together: electrician number 18294 is printed as Active while the same block is headed 'License Not Verified' and notes the last expiration date it saw was July 2025, and a separate S-License certificate of clearance, 2434C, is listed as cancelled. HomeAdvisor prints no licence record at all and states plainly that licence claims there are self-reported. The company also self-claims membership of the Massachusetts Electrical Contractors Association and EPA Lead Safe certification with no numbers, on a page whose own FAQ answers that it holds no eco-friendly accreditations. The tenure figures disagree too. HomeAdvisor's profile claims 19 years of experience; BBB lists 15 years and a January 2011 start date. BBB is 'Not Rated' and not accredited, saying it does not have enough information to grade the business. For panel work, a rewire, or smoke-detector and low-voltage installs around Methuen or Cambridge, the permit trail is deep and squarely residential. Ask for the current electrician licence number and check it with the state yourself, and ask for two or three recent job references — the praise here is real, but it was written in 2017.
