Riverline Pool Service holds a 3.3-star Google rating from 12 ratings. Its website asks weekly-service customers to keep a clear, safe path to the pool and a yard free of pets. A recent Google reviewer calls the prices high and the customer service terrible, and says the technicians are untrained or lowly trained. That reviewer also says the owner seems to be a nice guy but has no idea what is going on with his business behind his back. A 2025 customer said they had used Riverline to open and close their pool for several seasons. That 2025 customer said that on the scheduled opening day they arrived, took the cover off and left, without cleaning the pool or testing the water. The same 2025 customer said calls went straight to voicemail and emails went unanswered, and that they later found a cracked filter valve and a split hose. That 2025 customer said a different company charged three thousand dollars for the deep cleaning and equipment repair. A 2024 customer in a third season with Riverline credited Wayne with keeping the pool sparkling. A 2022 customer said Riverline did not do above-ground pools but helped them find a place that did. A 2022 customer who bought a home in Ivoryton said the pool had lain fallow for likely about seven years, with the electrical cut and the filter and mechanics needing replacement. That 2022 customer said Jeff would not work on it until the vegetation was dealt with and the electrical restored, and that Jeff, Wayne and team then replaced the mechanics and brought the pool back to life. That 2022 customer also said Jody, the receptionist, had never missed a call back. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0667065, as active, held by Riverline Pool Service LLC.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. High prices, terrible customer service, untrained or lowly trained technicians. Picture on left is how how pool looks today with new service at a lower price. Picture on right is how pool looked twice last year after Riverline service. Too bad. Owner seems to be a nice guy, but he has no idea what's going on with his business behind his back.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! RUN!!! These people are the absolute worst. I had used them to open and close my pool for several seasons and each year the quality of their service deteriorated but I wanted to keep giving them the benefit of the doubt. But this year they hit rock bottom. They were scheduled to open the pool on June 23rd— pretty late in the season but I was okay with it. They arrived on 6/23, took the cover off… and left. Didn’t put the extremely heavy cover (it takes at least two guys to lift it; I cannot do it on my own) in the bin where it always goes, just dumped it in front and left (see photo.) Far worse: they did NOTHING else. Did not clean the pool, test the water, ZILCH. I began frantically calling them to see when they’d be back and got NO answer. It went straight to voicemail every time and every email I sent went unanswered; never a reply. Finally I came home to work the first week of July to see the water— which had become a murky green swamp as I frantically begged them to come back— was now a cloudier color, as if shock had been added, but still a filthy mess (see next photo.) Went and looked and someone had come and dropped chlorine pellets into the skimmer baskets— but hadn’t even emptied the actual baskets which were JAMMED with debris and therefore no chemicals could even begin to circulate. Why would anyone working in the pool industry not empty dirty skimmer baskets as their very first step? But that’s far from the worst part. I walked over to the pool equipment to see if maybe at least the filter chamber had been cleared and not only had it not been cleared— water was shooting out of the filter valve that was now cracked and from a hose that was split. These guys had shown up and not only did nothing— they made things WORSE. You can imagine the number of phone calls and emails that ensued. I was literally BEGGING them to please get back to me. It was now July 10th— I had no pool for the entirety of the Fourth of July Weekend and literally no one would ever, EVER get back to me. This is a company I used for years and I couldn’t even receive the courtesy of a return phone call? I couldn’t even get an email? This is completely unprofessional to say the least but also, honestly, just grossly negligent and incompetent. In the end, a different company saved the day and it cost me THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS between the deep cleaning and equipment repair (new valve, new hose, labor, etc.) to fix the mess Riverline created. These guys are to be avoided AT ALL COSTS— or else, trust me, it will cost you. I am now about to pursue them in small claims court to recoup the $$$ I am out, that’s how mad I am (and I’ve never sued anyone in my life.) The thing is: if your company is having issues (staffing, scheduling, etc.) how hard is it to just call someone back and say “We’re really sorry but we’re swamped and we’re down a guy and can’t make this happen”?? HOW HARD IS THAT? These jerks are rude, and they’re wrong. Don’t use them, you will absolutely regret it, sooner rather than later. You’ll note that other reviews here complain of their total unreliability. The positive reviews are AT LEAST four years old if not older. I’m here to tell you: if this company was EVER decent, they sure as heck aren’t now. Go literally anywhere else.
Riverline is great. Highly recommend. Third season with Riverline. Wayne does a great job keeping our pool sparkling.
Couldn't help me ad they do not do above ground, but very helpful in finding a place that does. Appear to have what you need chemicals wise for your pool.
When I bought my home in Ivoryton almost two years ago, the pool was not included in the sale, and for good reason -- it was a mess. Lain fallow for likely about seven years, the electrical had been cut with bolt cutters, the filter and mechanics needed to be replaced, the yard around it overgrown to the point that when Jeff came by to scope it out, he refused to work on it until the surrounding vegetation had been dealt with, and obviously, the electrical been restored. He and team, replaced the mechanics, and once the vegetation was tamed, and electrical restored, Jeff, Wayne, and team diligently brought this thing back to life -- it's a turquoise daydream. The staining I expected, is no longer there, and Jody (Jodie?!) their receptionist is the loveliest human to deal with. She's dealt with so many calls from myself, and my meddling mother (bless her) with kindness and has never missed a call back. They are all so wonderful, and I can't thank them enough for making me feel like I was never taken advantage of, and for giving me a pool, when I thought there may just perpetually be a green tarp. I cannot recommend them enough, and I look forward to working with them for many, many seasons to come!
