Riverside Masonry & Concrete is a Fall River, Massachusetts mason where John Kinsley runs the jobs customers describe, from retaining walls to sidewalks and driveways. It holds 4.2 stars from 10 ratings on Angi. In a December 2025 Angi review, a customer who hired the company to replace sidewalks and pour a concrete driveway wrote that the city would not approve concrete and required permeable asphalt; John reorganized the job, and when the city was slow to release the curb cut, pulled crews from other projects to finish before the weather turned. A July 2021 customer whose retaining wall was falling apart said John advised replacing rather than repairing it, suggested a stone suited to his wife's mobility issues, and gave a very reasonable estimate. In May 2021, John and Nicholas quoted a project at a great price and came back a few days later to complete it. The complaints are about how the work held up. An October 2024 reviewer wrote that foundation resurfacing done that summer was already cracking, that another contractor pointed out the stairs were not level, and that calls and emails went unanswered. An August 2021 customer called the work sloppy and said it was not done to the agreed specifications, while noting the low cost.
Contracted with Riverside concrete to replace sidewalks, install concrete driveway. City would not approve concrete driveway, was told had to use permeable asphalt. John did not falter, grabbed the bull by the horns, organized and controlled every aspect of the transition. All work was performed perfectly. Due to conditions out of our control, city was slow to release curb cut. With the weather turning and timing of the essence, when city finally released permit, John pulled it all together and finished the project. I know this is not the only project they have going, guys were pulled from other projects and made it happen. Would definitely have them back for any other projects I can dream up.
John and his team did a FANTASTIC job! Very professional and completed job a lot faster than I expected and kept open line of communication with questions I had. I look forward to using Riverside Masonry soon for other projects needed at my property .
Initially I gave a 5 star rating in July. Now in October, the foundation resurfacing is already cracking. Also I didnโt inspect my stairs close enough and another contractor pointed out my stairs were not level. BEWARE !!!!!! All tied to contact via phone, email with no response. Do not use him
Work was done in a timely manner and they were great to work with. Definitely would recommend and wouldnรข t hesitate to hire them again for more work..
Sloppy work. Did not do job to agreed upon specifications as verbalized. Read your contracts carefully. Low cost at least...
