Robar Contracting does roofing work, and its website describes it as a Vermont contractor. The company says it has been in business 20 years. A 2018 Houzz reviewer said the Robar crew reroofed their home, starting on a Monday and finishing on a Wednesday, at a price that beat their other quotes. A 2018 Houzz reviewer who hired Joe in 2017 to replace a roof said his crew did not show up for the first few days, then left garbage and cigarette butts in the yard, and said items were stolen from the backyard. That 2018 reviewer wrote that a two-day job stretched into months and that he eventually stopped showing up after collecting the money, leaving the roof unfinished. In a 2017 Houzz review, a church in Montpelier wrote that Robar Contracting, brought in by another company to begin work on its roof, left the roof wide open without proper covering during a week of heavy rain, and that water damaged the ceiling, the walls and the carpet. The church said it was told Robar refused to give insurance information. It holds 2.8 stars from 11 Google ratings and 2.3 from 3 on Houzz.
We hired Joe in March of 2017 to replace our roof. His crew did not show up the first few days which was the first bad sign. When they did show up they trashed the yard, leaving garbage and cigarettes butts everywhere. They also stole multiple items from the backyard. Our 2 day job stretched into months and eventually he stopped showing up, after already collecting his money, leaving our roof unfinished. He has ignored all texts, phone calls, letters and court dates. I wouldn’t even hire him to rake my leaves, he’d probably steal your rake. He is now operating under the name Robar Construction Services.
Hired robar crew to reroof my home price was amazing and service followed right along with it. They started on a Monday and we're done on a Wednesday I couldn't of been happier with the result totally stunning service don't be a fool and go elsewhere to pay high costs this team has all my quotes beat by far!
BEWARE!!! Lighthouse Christian Church hired The Church at Prison Inc. dba New Life Crew (owner Pete Fiske) to renovate and restore the roof of our facility at 3 St Paul Street in Montpelier, VT. By contract, we allowed Pete Fiske to hire whatever subcontractors he deemed necessary to complete the job. In the contact, New Life Crew stated to have sufficient liability insurance. New Life Crew hired Joseph (Joe) Robar dba Robar Contracting to begin the work and so they did. During the week of September 3 - 9, 2017 there was heavy rainfall and Robar Contracting had left the roof wide open without proper covering. As a direct result, water came through and damaged the ceiling, the walls and the carpet. Upon contacting Pete Fiske, he sated that he does not have proper liability insurance, but would contact Robar to get their insurance information. Pete came back stating that Robar refuses to give any insurance information. Lighthouse Christian Church has filed a claim with our insurance company. Our insurance agent instructed us to send a certified letter to Robar requesting insurance information and we did. Just last week, we received the letter back as "unclaimed" indicating Robar has ignored the letter. Our insurance agent instructed us to find out if Robar is registered with the State Of Vermont. Upon contacting the Secretary of State of Vermont office today, I have learned Robar is not registered with Vermont at all. I was then instructed to contact the State of Vermont Attorney General's office who could get involved by sending a letter of request to Robar and copy Pete Fiske. I have done so.
