One customer has written publicly about Rocco J. Festa Construction, and the account leads the page for a reason. In October 2022 a homeowner on BuildZoom said Rocco fell through the spare-bedroom ceiling while replacing the roof, then stopped returning calls about fixing it, and backed out of the hardwood flooring he had agreed to lay after buying a house of his own. It is a single one-star review, and it is the whole written history of this Revere company. The permit side reads better. BuildZoom shows 12 permitted projects for the address on Ellerton Street and scores the profile 82, so there is a real working history behind the name even though nobody else has written about it. The licensing picture is layered and worth working through before you hire. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #160898, issued 11 February 2026, and says it confirmed that one active as of July 2026. It also lists three earlier Massachusetts entries it marks inactive — HIC registrations #144539 and #116475 and construction supervisor licence CS-089457, each of which it says state records showed as cancelled at one point — plus an unverified Newton residential-builder entry, #216297, that last expired in December 2022. Those are all BuildZoom's records rather than a state check, so ask for the current registration number and confirm it with Massachusetts Consumer Affairs yourself. If you go ahead: get the active registration in writing, make responsibility for interior damage explicit in the contract, agree in writing what happens if part of the scope is dropped mid-job, and ask them directly about the 2022 complaint.
