A R Home Renovation Corp is the contractor homeowners call when a single room becomes a much larger project — a gutted duplex kitchen, a converted attic, a full exterior overhaul. Reviews describe Andre Matias personally running crews on site, working across the Greater Boston area on remodels and additions rather than one-off repairs. The clearest thread through its Google reviews is scope. A homeowner writing in April 2026 described a full exterior renovation — new roof, replacement windows, PVC trim, and Hardie Plank siding — done alongside hardscaping, a rebuilt fence, and converting a third-floor attic into two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a laundry room with dormers added on both sides of the roof. A late-2025 review recounted rebuilding both kitchens of a two-family duplex in phases, working around tenants and coordinating with outside plumbers and electricians. One property owner said in mid-2025 that A R Home Renovation is the only contractor he uses across his properties, for cabinets, framing, and complete builds. Carpentry is where the praise gets most specific. In an October 2025 review, a Beverly, MA kitchen cabinet and LVL beam installation was singled out for being level, secure, and cleanly finished, and a September 2025 review described a June 2025 roof replacement carried out during a heat wave, praising the crew's methodical, safety-conscious approach to a physically demanding job. A mid-2025 review of a rotting beam repair noted Andre checking on the crew's progress each day and the team adding extra insulation beyond what the original construction had. The one flag in an otherwise consistent run of reviews is from 2022, describing repeated unanswered calls and a full voicemail box. It's an isolated, years-old complaint, but worth testing before committing, since a renovation of this scale depends on being able to reach the crew. This is a fit for a homeowner planning a real renovation or addition — not a quick single-trade job — where carpentry, framing, and coordinating multiple trades are the actual work. Confirm current availability and licensing directly, and ask to see a recent project close to the scope you have in mind.

Andre and his team are exceptional, to say the least. We trusted AR Home Renovation with what effectively amounted to a full exterior renovation of our home (new roof, replacement windows, new PVC trim, new Hardie Plank siding) plus a substantial amount of hardscaping, fence building and new entry stairs for both our front & back doors. This is on top of also converting our 3rd floor attic into a full living floor (2 bedrooms, bathroom, and laundry), complete with partial shed dormering on both sides of the roof and rebuilding and finishing of attic stairwell. To say that we are happy with the results would be a massive understatement. I'll save the lengthy superlatives list, but if you want someone doing major contracting work on your house and want it treated as if it was their own home, hire Andre. Before and after pictures here should do it justice, but AR's attention to detail and quality were impeccable.
My second floor renovation was done by AR Home Renovation. They have an amazing group of carpenters and skilled professionals. The guys are detail oriented and have a lot of experience with different kinds of projects. They were able to provide solutions that worked for our renovation and didn't destroy our budget. Really enjoyed working with them and would gladly do it again.
In 2023, I started a renovation of a two-family (duplex) built in 1935. The building had not had any major updates since it was built. Both kitchens needed to be demo'd and rebuilt with some walls removed and some openings closed up. All windows and some exterior doors were replaced with the corresponding millwork. Andre and his team worked on all of this, in phases, as I needed to work around tenants moving in and out. He and his team worked with the plumber and electricians that I also hired. He was collaborative with both me and them. Both bathrooms had vintage tile that I wanted to keep. Each shower had a large window inside. I wanted to remove them and put smaller windows. I was able to find the same exact vintage tile on Ebay. Andre's team took out the larger windows, installed smaller windows. His tile guy was able to use the vintage tile I'd found to match the existing. If I didn't tell you about the repair, you wouldn't know it wasn't original. As a woman, it's not easy to find a contractor that is willing to discuss ideas and solutions with you in a way that doesn't leave you demoralized. Andre was great to work with. Listened to the options I was considering, and was willing to offer pros and cons of each with regard to building code, etc. From there we decided on which was way best to go and then he ran with it. Andre and his team did work of the highest quality. Any issues were quickly resolved. This summer (2025), I hired his team to tear down and rebuild the front porches and part of the rear porch. I've recommended him to several neighbors and friends and would hire him again in a heartbeat!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Work and Professionalism! Andre did an outstanding job installing new kitchen cabinets and an LVL beam at my home in Beverly, MA. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were top-notch — everything was level, secure, and finished beautifully. He showed up on time, worked efficiently, and kept the space clean throughout the project. You can tell he takes real pride in his work. I’d highly recommend Andre to anyone looking for quality carpentry or kitchen installation work done right the first time.
Andre Matias and his crew replaced our roof during a heat wave in mid-June 2025. Reroofing is back-breaking and dangerous work. Andre’s men were tough, strong, meticulous and used to pulling themselves up a steep roof with just a rope around them. Reroofing requires careful logistical planning to get all the needed tools and materials hauled up onto that roof for precisely the moment they’re needed. The installation of the new roof also requires considerable knowledge, wise decisions and careful execution. Every nail driven can potentially lead to a leak in the new roof. And finally, reroofing makes a terrible mess that must be carefully cleaned up to avoid future injuries to the homeowners, their children, their guests, their pets or anyone who might work on that house in the future. Having your roof replaced is expensive and one of the most important decisions people make about their house. It’s a job that should only be entrusted to experienced serious people. Based on my experience, Andre Matias and his crew are worth hiring. They came when Andre said they would. They worked patiently for long hours in scorching heat. They appear to have done their work well. The new roof looks great and I’m not aware of a single leak since they left. An absolutely perfect cleanup is probably not possible, but they did a very respectable job. Andre provided photos and videos to document any underlying roof damage that would add to his original estimate. And the final cost, though not cheap, was fair. Finally, Andre Matias is a very decent human being and someone I would trust to hire again. For that reason and for all the other reasons I have given, I would strongly recommend him and AR Home Renovation Corp..
