One day. That is how long a June 2026 customer says it took to turn a driveway in very poor condition into a new one — old tree roots dug out, edges cut clean. Speed on a single-day driveway is what most of the twenty-one reviews on file are about. Rock Solid Paving & Maintenance is a Whitman-based asphalt contractor: residential driveways, commercial parking lots, asphalt repair, sealcoating and curbing, plus commercial snow plowing through the winter. The company says it has been at it since 2016 and lists a service area running from Whitman and Rockland out through Quincy, Milton, Braintree, Canton and down to Bridgewater and Hingham. Owner involvement comes up by name: an August 2023 customer wrote that the owner quoted the job quickly, worked around their schedule and was on site himself for most of the day. Commercial work is a real part of the mix, not a marketing line. A March 2024 reviewer describes paving for Province Lake Golf, and an August 2023 one says the cart paths and roadways at Granite Links Golf Club, done about two years earlier, were still holding up. In a September 2023 review, a condo association describes puddling that appeared after a large paving project and says the company kept coming back until the drainage was fixed. What to know before calling. There is one substantive complaint, from July 2025: a customer unhappy with the finish work — specifically that a simple straight line was not up to standard — who says the company promised to come back and make it good, and that three months after the April start it still had not. The same review warns that the salesperson promised a great deal before payment and went quiet after. That is one voice against twenty, but it is a specific, recent-ish account of a callback that did not happen, and it is worth pinning down in writing who returns for punch-list work and when. Worth knowing too: the company advertises Spanish-speaking service, and its HomeAdvisor listing gives a Rockland address while its own site is Whitman-based. Right call for a one-day driveway replacement or a commercial lot on the South Shore — with the touch-up terms agreed up front.
