Rutland Fuel Co. is a heating oil dealer whose website names Rutland as its service area and says the company has been in business for 101 years. A news site has named Scott Sullivan as the owner of Rutland Fuel Co. Its BBB grade is A+. A 2023 customer said that when their furnace turned off, they came over within 20 minutes and fixed it. A 2022 customer wrote that they had been with the company for 13+ years and praised Michael. A recent customer complains that the company drains its dump pump runoff onto the sidewalk and says it makes the sidewalk treacherous when it freezes. A 2024 customer said a Rutland Fuel delivery truck hit their parked SUV during a delivery, that the driver never stopped, and that no compensation had been received when they wrote. A 2022 customer said the company could not honor their contracted pre-buy oil price because it ran out of contracted oil. A 2022 customer said the customer service was terrible and they were never on time.

2nd edit: still haven’t addressed the dump pump runoff right on to the sidewalk. City put a curb in so there’s no way for that water to ever get to the sewer now. Edit added pics. Shows just how much they value the community they serve Bump. Makes traveling by here a safety hazard. If I fall, I will sue you. Why drain it onto the sidewalk? Makes the sidewalk treacherous when it freezes. Going to email the city these photos in hopes they make you fix it. Fix it and I will edit my review
Great customer service!!
On January 11, 2024, a Rutland Fuel delivery truck hit my vehicle. The SUV was parked in my girlfriend's driveway where they were making a delivery. The driver never stopped to inform us and if not for the extremely loud noise of the crash we would not have been aware of it. It is now June 27 and no compensation whatsoever has be received as their insurance company seems to think the claim will just disappear. It appears that legal actions are required to resolve this.
Best company around! My furnace turned off and when I called they came over within 20 minutes and fixed it no problem! Excellent customer service and the most reasonable prices around.
