Vinny Sapienza answers his own phone — and in this trade that detail shows up again and again in what his customers write. Sapienza Carpentry is a two-person LLC working out of 3 Pine Street in Amesbury, started in June 2017 according to its BBB profile, with Vincent Sapienza as owner. The work runs from trim and window replacement up through whole-room renovations: one customer in May described a full-gut bathroom in an 1870s house brought up to current building code, with permits, inspectors and subcontractors coordinated in a tight space. The reviews are unusually consistent. Twenty-six Google ratings average a flat 5.0, with 22 written reviews going back to 2023 and four of them in the last six months. Responsiveness is the recurring theme — a May reviewer had Vinny on the phone in person on the first call and at their condo the next day for the estimate. Another hired the team for a second project and said so. BuildZoom's permit records back the volume: 18 permitted projects and a BuildZoom score of 123, which it places in the top 1% of Massachusetts licensed contractors. BuildZoom also lists a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor license (CS-114065) and Home Improvement Contractor registration 188604 for the company — that is the directory's own record, so confirm both with the state before signing anything. The BBB page carries an A+, though the company is not BBB accredited. Two people is the real constraint. A crew that size won't run three jobs at once, so if your timeline is tight, ask what else is on the calendar before committing. A sensible call for finish carpentry, trim and window work, and single-room renovations around Amesbury and the Newburyport area, particularly if you want the owner on site rather than a project manager between you and the work. Ask for permit numbers from a recent job — with 18 on record, they should be easy to produce.

Vinny is a true master of his craft. We had another outstanding experience hiring him and the Sapienza Carpentry team again. Working with Vinny and his associates was an absolute pleasure, and they managed the entire project with total ease. They completed a full-gut bathroom renovation in our 1870s home, bringing everything up to modern Building Codes with ease. Vinny’s foresight, brilliant suggestions, and seamless communication made the experience dare I say enjoyable. He expertly coordinated permits, inspectors, and sub-contractors in a tight space. I highly recommend Sapienza Carpentry without hesitation!

Vinny and his crew are amazing. He’s highly responsive to phone calls and does what it takes to make a job happen. He’s fair, honest and very well priced. He answered my first phone call in person and was at my condo the very next day to check out the job for his estimate. He made sure to get his insurance information to the management company quickly as well so we could go forward. Only 8 days from that first call, he came to do the work. (I needed demolition on a rotting and unnecessary layer underneath my 3rd floor balcony.) What great work they did! And they left both my neighbor’s balcony/patio areas under my unit SPOTLESS! I’m so thrilled and thankful for Vinny and his crew! I’ll be calling him for all my future projects!

Vinny and his crew were super professional and did excellent work. They were communicative, approachable, and always on time. Most contractors don't reply to calls and texts, but Vinny was calling and texting me proactively to discuss details and timelines. They worked hard, were meticulous about the details and even made sure to clean up at the end of each day. Best of all, his final price was in line with his estimate. Very pleased with my experience and I highly recommend them!
