Seaside Landscaping traces its roots to 1991, when, by its own account on Houzz, Shawn Crapo started SC Enterprises mowing lawns and maintaining Seacoast-area properties; the company says SeaSide Landscaping was formed in July 2003 as an owner/operator business. Its website lists Rye, Rye Beach, Portsmouth, Newington, New Castle, Greenland, North Hampton, Hampton, Exeter, Stratham, Newmarket, Newfields, Epping, Raymond, Seabrook, Hampton Falls, Durham and Dover among the towns it serves. A 2015 customer said the price was very competitive and that he came back the following day, when his seed sprayer was clogged, and finished the job; that customer said the grass had filled in. A 2011 customer said he surveyed the property, came back with a price and contract and fully explained what was going to be done. That 2011 customer said he was cautious about heavy rains and offered to swing by and retouch any washed-out areas, and that there were none. A 2012 customer said he responded Friday morning to a Thursday evening call with an estimate, and that two young men showed up Friday afternoon and did the job. A 2007 customer thanked Shawn for leveling and removing almost a foot of solid snow and ice. A 2019 customer said they were talked into having the job done the afternoon before heavy rain and strong wind were predicted, were told they would see fuzz in about 8 or 10 days, and still had nothing growing weeks later. A 2019 reviewer wrote that all of the hydroseed was lost after violent downpours the night it was applied. A 2014 customer said they asked for a spring cleanup, trimming and mulching, then received a bill in July for the spring cleanup without any evidence of the work having been done, and hired another landscaping company. A 2014 customer who ordered topsoil said it held stones as large as 12 by 6 inches and was a poor clay mix. A 2020 customer said they expected better coverage for the money spent. Awesome job, very knowledgeable and just a great guy
I was talked into having the job done the afternoon before a heavy rain and strong wind predicted for the following day. I was assured it was ok to do even with the weather predictions for the next day, and if I didn't it would be too cold to do after. He said I would see fuzz in about 8 or 10 days. Then he called early in the AM wanting to come to the house to get his check. I told him I would mail it to him, which I did. I still have absolutely nothing growing weeks later. What recourse do I have?
