Secure Roofing is a Quincy roofing and exteriors shop that's been owner-operated by Mike Tahaney since 1999 — the website says he personally answers every call and gives every estimate, and reviews going back to 2021 bear that out: he's named directly in nearly all of them. The company holds a 4.9★ average from 43 Google ratings and an A+ BBB grade, and self-reports being named a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite three times (2021, 2023, 2025). Several reviews describe Mike diagnosing problems other contractors couldn't. In a February 2023 review, a customer described five years of recurring leaks after a previous roof replacement that several other contractors had failed to fix — Secure Roofing found and fixed the actual problem spot on the same visit for a reasonable fee. Repeat customers describe a similar pattern of honesty: an April 2026 review from a client who'd used the company "a few times over the decades" specifically praised Mike for not trying to upsell unnecessary work. Response speed comes up constantly. In a January 2024 review, a condo association described getting a next-day assessment and a next-day estimate on a leak that needed fixing before winter, with the repair completed within days — and the crew fixing an unrelated gutter leak while they were there. Multiple reviews describe same-day or next-day response to storm damage and active leaks. One thing worth flagging: the company's own site states it has been a BBB Accredited Business since 2018, but the BBB's own listing for the company shows it as not a BBB-accredited business, while still carrying an A+ rating. That's worth clarifying directly with the company. Given the volume of detailed, consistent accounts spanning five years and the direct role Mike plays in nearly every job, this reads as a genuinely small, hands-on operation rather than a larger company's marketing.
