Three written comments in four years — and every one of them is about the same kind of job: something wooden that rotted, split or fell apart, put back the way it should be. Seekonk Handyman works out of 365 Middle Street in Fall River and describes itself as a one-man shop, operating as M&G Building Company under the Seekonk Handyman name and covering southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, from Attleboro and Swansea across to Providence and Newport. What customers describe is small, careful repair work. A homeowner in May 2022 hired him to replace a front porch support post that was rotting at the base, and wrote about a timely estimate, a walk-through of what might turn up once the work started, and a job finished as promised. In May 2024 another customer had a shed put right — floor, wall and window — and singled out the pricing as fair. Google's page carries 4.9 stars across 13 ratings, though only those three come with words attached. Two things are worth pinning down before you call. The first is registration. The site says the business is registered as a Home Improvement Contractor in Massachusetts and with the Rhode Island Contractors Registration and Licensing Board, but publishes no number for either. BuildZoom, meanwhile, lists a Rhode Island handyman registration (#40828) that expired 03-01-2023 and which it last verified as expired in November 2024, plus a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (#186126) marked inactive — and it describes both as having at one point been cancelled. That contradiction is one to settle with the state's own lookup rather than with a directory. The second is simply whose name goes on the contract. The website is written in the first person by Brian of M&G Building Company; the BBB profile and BuildZoom both name Paul Noury as owner, and the 2022 porch-post customer wrote about hiring Paul. Every one of those listings carries the same phone number, so this is one business — but ask who will actually be doing the job. For a rotted post, a sagging shed, or a punch list of small repairs, the history here is short but consistent. Confirm the current registration and the principal's name, and get the estimate in writing before work starts.
