What started as a few cracks in the cultured stone on the front of our home quickly turned into a much bigger concern. We have discovered over the years that this house wasn’t built very well… There were times when we wanted to pull out our hair because it was so stressful to think of what we needed to fix around the house. We purchased a raised ranch a couple of years ago that had a deck off the kitchen with stairs going down to the back yard. The deck and stairs were poorly constructed and failing. We worked with Dave to have them completely taken down, build a slightly larger deck and reconfigure the stairs. We could not be happier with how Dave listened to what we wanted, the absolute quality of the build and the skilled workmanship of Marco and his crew. They worked professionally and left the site as clean as possible every day. The new deck has added tremendously to how we will enjoy being outside!

I found Sensible Home Products after asking Google Gemini to provide me a list with the top ranked siding companies in central Connecticut. Sensible Home Products was on that list. I received quotes from several of the companies that were on the list however I knew shortly after talking to Jeremy that I would be contracting with Sensible Home Products on my job. I felt that I could trust Jeremy with my home immediately and throughout the months of working with him he has maintained that position. Jeremy is very responsive, communicative, and leads a phenomenal team. At every step, Sensible Home Products impressed me with the care, precision, and result of their work. This job, which is a once in a lifetime investment in my home, included the removal of aluminum siding, installation of new vinyl siding, replacement of windows throughout my home, installation of new gutters, beautification of existing steps and installation of a new walkway with bluestone and pavers. While every single employee that I interacted with from Sensible Home Products was professional and did their job well, I must make a special call out to Victor and Alec who single handedly stripped my house of its old siding, wrapped my house in insulation, and installed the new siding. In addition to my surprise, Victor custom made all the trim around my windows and doors. That level of precision and care is highly unusual in the home improvement space considering that I see other companies install siding on neighbors’ homes in just a few days. After going through this process, I now spot poorly installed siding everywhere. Victor and Alec took their time, did not cut any corners, and treated my home as their own. I could not be any more impressed with this company or the renovation of my home. I highly recommend giving them a call if you have a home improvement project. You will not be disappointed. As a handyman that had done a lot of work for others in town and nearby towns it wasn’t often I found myself on the other side. 99% of the work completed in my home was done by me so this was a new experience for me. I received quotes from 3 different contractors. Admittedly, it wasn’t often I was looking for a contractor myself and the couple of times I had used someone it wasn’t the experience I had hoped for. Well, this time it was completely different. It was the experience I hoped for and more. The contractor I chose is local in Newington: Sensible Home Products From my first contact with Jeremey, the owner, I knew this was the company I wanted to use. The reviews online were amazing! He was detail oriented from beginning to end, spelling out everything that would be done and how. He provided suggestions for a final result he knew I’d love, and it never felt like I was being upsold. In fact, some suggestions were more work on his end and not a penny more on mine. He stayed in contact with me from beginning to end, showed up many times during the project, and took obvious pride in the work being completed and the manner his tradesman reflected the company culture. Being skilled in the trade as well makes me a hard critic and also means I want to be involved in some portion of the work. Jeremy was never put off by this. While my portion of the job was small in comparison (installing the vinyl railings, painting the stairs, and painting the foundation) it felt good to be able to provide a small portion of a larger project that Sensible Home Products did the heavy lifting on. The tradesmen, Victor and Alek, treated my house with respect for the 2-weeks they were here. They picked up every single evening making sure not one nail was left anywhere on the property. They showed up at a predictable (same) time every single day, working through a week where the temperatures rose above 90 degrees. I couldn’t be happier with the work done by Sensible Home Products. Jeremy, the owner, and his entire team were exceptional from start to finish. They did a complete exterior transformation of my home, including shaker siding, replacing three windows, creating new window openings, and installing a new front door. Because of the way my home was originally constructed with Homasote, the entire house needed to be re-sheathed before the siding could be installed. They took on the extra work and made sure everything was done properly rather than cutting corners. The finished product looks fantastic, and the quality of the workmanship really shows. I also want to give a special shout-out to Vladimir. He was fantastic to work with — extremely professional, efficient, and hardworking. He works quickly without sacrificing quality, and it was clear that he takes pride in his work. Jeremy and his team were professional, responsive, and genuinely cared about doing the job right. Everything came out great, and I would absolutely recommend Sensible Home Products to anyone looking for high-quality siding, windows, doors, and exterior work. Five stars all around!
