One name turns up in write-up after write-up: Megan, who runs SFAB's office end — the quote, the schedule, the supplier. Homeowners describe her chasing a flooring supplier for savings and fitting an install around a move-in date, and the installers get named just as often. Select Flooring and Beyond works out of Rockland, selling hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, tile, stone and carpet tile and installing what it sells, plus hardwood refinishing, across Greater Boston. The company describes itself as family-owned and says it has been at this since 2020. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. The jobs people describe tend to be whole floors, done fast. In March 2026 a customer had 1,000 square feet of vinyl plank laid over the concrete bottom floor of a raised ranch near the ocean, where a dehumidifier has to run constantly; the crew put down a Quiet Walk vapor barrier first. In April 2026 another had LVP through a roughly 900-square-foot basement and credited Megan with working the flooring supplier to find a saving. A January 2025 customer, referred through Floors & Decor, had 900 square feet installed in one day. Replacement and refinishing come as one job here. An April 2026 reviewer had the whole second floor replaced in the fall of 2025, then the first floor partly replaced and the rest refinished. A July 2024 customer had hardwood refinished with the work scheduled for while the house was empty, and a June 2024 homeowner, remote for the project, was sent pictures at every stage. Individual installers get singled out: Jason for an organized May 2026 job that left almost no dust, Ben for a July 2025 install a homeowner called thorough and considerate. One wrinkle worth knowing. A March 2026 reviewer gave five stars to the installers and to Guy Cataldo, who sorted out an exchange when trim came in the wrong color, but called the store staff pushy. Since SFAB sells the material as well as laying it, settle who owns the order and how an exchange gets handled before anything ships. For a whole-floor job — basement LVP, a level of hardwood, a refinish on whatever stays — this is a shop that carries both the product and the crew. Lock in the install date and the material order, and ask who is on site the day they start.
