Sidney Landscaping Services Inc is based at 63 Fitchburg Road in Ayer and says it has served customers since 2015. Its own website describes landscaping maintenance, landscape construction and masonry, excavation and drainage work, lawn installation, and commercial snow removal. The BBB profile lists the company as a landscape contractor and reports 11 years in business, but it is not BBB accredited and has no published BBB rating. The strongest pattern in customer feedback is hands-on outdoor construction and cleanup. Recent Google reviewers describe spring cleanups, edging, mulch, plantings, walkways, granite steps, retaining walls, drainage, excavation, and yard redesigns. One April 2026 reviewer said the crew spent the day on a major front- and back-yard cleanup, while another recent reviewer described hedge removal, stump removal, excavation, and debris removal. Older reviews add detailed accounts of French-drain work, paver walkways, patios, grading, snow removal, and hardscaping. The Google profile shows 4.8 stars from 72 ratings, with reviews spanning 2021 through 2026. There are also specific issues to discuss before booking. A July 2026 reviewer said a mower damaged a rose and missed invasive plants, and an August 2025 reviewer reported weeds returning within days, flowers being removed despite instructions, and an argument among landscapers. A March 2024 reviewer described an unsatisfactory estimate for a drainage-related project. These are minority but concrete negative accounts beside a much larger body of positive work descriptions. They appear best suited to homeowners planning a defined maintenance, masonry, walkway, drainage, excavation, or landscape-construction project who want a detailed quote. Confirm the exact scope, plant-protection plan, drainage approach, cleanup standard, schedule, and follow-up terms in writing before paying a deposit.
Good business and considering of community. Highly recommended!
My housing authority made us get lawnmowers this year to do our own yards. Then today this landscaping company came by. Without any notice these guys ran over my rose with a lawnmower, one I have been taking care of for years. Didn't do anything about the Oriental Bittersweet (a very invasive vine) or the Tree of Heaven (a invasive tree, and host to the spotted lantern fly). You are better off doing it yourself like we were supposed to this year anyway. I have to give at least one star to make this post, but these guys don't deserve any. Update. They came back again today. I watched in horror as the landscaper weed wacked my entire rosebush. I put cinder blocks around it so the landscapers would know it's there. I watched out my door as one of the workers took the leaves off my entire bush. They did not target anyone else. Only because I wrote a bad Google review, the company retaliated by destroying a plant that I took care of for 5 years.
I cannot recommend Sidney Landscaping Services Inc. highly enough. Sidney personally came to my home in Ayer, Massachusetts, to review the work I wanted completed. From our first meeting, he was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and highly efficient. He carefully listened to my goals and quickly provided a fair, flat-rate price for the project, which included the removal of two lengthy, old, overgrown privet hedges, several stumps, a major reduction of another roadside hedge, and the removal of a large pile of yard debris. A special recognition goes to Robson, who performed the excavation of the privet hedges with incredible skill and precision. Watching him work was fascinating. He removed the extensive root systems with meticulous care while protecting the surrounding landscape and avoiding underground electrical lines and other existing features. His attention to detail and pride in his work were truly impressive. Daniel, Henri, and Jhony tackled what can only be described as a beast of a privet hedge that we wanted to keep but cut back by more than half. The amount of hard, physical labor involved was extraordinary. Their teamwork, skill, and work ethic were amazing to witness. They transformed the hedge beautifully, cleaned the area thoroughly, and hauled away every bit of debris with care and professionalism. Throughout the entire project, communication was excellent. The crew arrived ready to work, treated my property with respect, and left everything looking fantastic. Sidney consistently went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the results. Whenever I had a question or request, his response was always, “No problem.” I would also like to mention Lidia in the office, who was an absolute sweetheart and a pleasure to work with. This entire team exemplifies professionalism, craftsmanship, hard work, and customer service. My highest recommendation goes to Sidney Landscaping Services Inc. If you are looking for a landscaping company that truly cares about doing exceptional work and ensuring customer satisfaction, look no further.
I am very happy with the job (April 18, 2026). My front and back yards needed a major cleanup, and the crew was here literally all day. They did a great job with the edging and mulch, and refilling stone around my house. They removed some big nuisance plants that I thought would never be gone! Overall, it was a very good experience.
I had to remove my prior glowing 5 star review for Sidney. I can no longer stand behind my recommendation. Last job done was garbage. Weeds popping up again 3 days later, ripped out flowers that I said to leave alone, landscapers arguing vigorously in our yard. Would not recommend.
